(Reuters) - There is now an imminent threat of measles spreading in various regions globally, as COVID-19 led to a steady decline in vaccination coverage and weakened surveillance of the disease, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the U.S. public health agency said on Wednesday.
Measles is one of the most contagious human viruses and is almost entirely preventable through vaccination. However, it requires 95% vaccine coverage to prevent outbreaks among populations.
A record high of nearly 40 million children missed a measles vaccine dose in 2021 due to hurdles created by the COVID pandemic, the WHO and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said in a joint report.
While measles cases have not yet gone up dramatically compared to previous years, now is the time to act, the WHO's measles lead, Patrick O'Connor, told Reuters.
"We are at a crossroads," he said on Tuesday. "It is going to be a very challenging 12-24 months trying to mitigate this."
A combination of factors like lingering social distancing measures and cyclical nature of measles may explain why there has not yet been an explosion of cases despite the widening immunity gaps, but that could change quickly, said O'Connor, pointing out the highly contagious nature of the disease.

Measles are THE most contagious disease known to man.
If you have not have them before or have not got the vaccine, and get in contact with sick person, you WILL get them.
Luckily, they are not that much to worry. When I was young, everybody was the measles survivor. They just came to town, everybody who have not got them before, got them. And eventually the virus run out of possible subjects and died out. Few years later, the situation repeated itself.
Basically something like flu with major rash over the body. week or two and no problem!
I honestly do not remember anybody who got any long term problems from them. Just an annoying part of the life in that time.
Hmm... Media and government relentlessly lie about a “vaccine,” and confidence in vaccines declines. Who could’ve foreseen that?

What are the odds they will require a COVID shot to get a measles vaccine? Or just lie and mix them together?
Confidence in vaccines didn’t decline. Confidence in trusted doctors and trusted prescriptions and trusted treatments declined. Most people know that legitimate vaccines work just as they have for the past however many decades. The trust department and the confidence department have been shattered because the doctors went along with policy instead of sound medical solutions.
I have not been to my family doctor in two years because of this. He pushed the poison and I told him that the science didn’t support the conclusions and the treatment. He kept saying he read the science and he was right... and here I am unvaccinated and still alive, while I have coworkers who took it and died, or whose family members took it and died.
Why would I ever possibly trust him or the Cleveland clinic for whom he works again?
I know vaccines work- I never got polio, measels, mumps, rubella, rubeola, etc. when I was a kid because I took those vaccines.
And since they’ve lied and experimented on humanity with this toxin, who is to say that another shot that is intended to prevent measels actually contains the same toxin?
Once they break trust with their patients, which they certifiably have, there is no trusting anything they say.
Yes, it’s super contagious. My mother made sure I got the measles when I was a tiny tot. Right before the vaccine became available. It was standard practice back then.

Yeah, it was "hurdles" caused by the COVID-9184 Scamdemic, not that people rightfully don't trust those working in the medical industry nor pharmaceutical korporations that push such things as the Jim Jones Jab.
I know quite a few people who walked away from their Branch Covidian doctor and will never get a shot again. I know quite a few who've gone even further and won't take any prescriptions again.
Not long ago I thought it was going to take a generation for the medical industry to regain the trust they threw away for the globalists but now realize the trust will never be restored.
We are living through a fire sale of governments and korporations who know their only future involves outright criminal behavior.
