With the failure of the Republican Party to achieve a red wave in the midterm elections, many explanations — and accusations — are being bandied about. Blame is attributed to abortion, Trump endorsements, election integrity, and voter fraud, and the shifting of millions of votes to Democrats by Google, Facebook, and other tech monopolies.
Marketing expert Mark Beal from the Rutgers University School of Communication and Information believes there is still another factor in the election that is being overlooked: the impact of Generation Z. An expert on this group (born between 1997 and 2012), Beal says they will wield increasing influence on local, state, and national election outcomes.
This "purpose" generation is focused on environment issues and women's rights. Aggressively programmed in diversity, inclusion, and equity, they support "corporations, brands, organizations and individuals running for office that have the ability, influence and power to contribute to a better world, nation and community."
The oldest members of this cohort first voted in 2015. During the time of the 2020 presidential election, five classes, ages 18–23, voted. In the 2022 election, the seventh class of Gen Z to turn 18 also voted. An NBC poll showed that Gen Z voted for Biden more than any other age demographic and contributed to the success of Biden in states such as Georgia and Pennsylvania.
Beal states that Gen Z through 2030 will constitute the majority of voters as the youngest members of the cohort turn 18. He believes they "will significantly influence future elections for many years."
Gen Z naïvely believe the Marxist/Leninist propaganda that equity means equality for all rather than the central government forcing redistribution of property.

No, they won’t. First, they’ve been taught to believe that anyone with an ‘R’ behind their name is the anti-Christ. And second, they tend to vote on emotion not logic. Yes, inflation and unemployment are bad, but women’s reproductive health and trans rights are what matters to them, and what they vote on.

Redistricting has no impact on Senate races but mail in and vote sure as hell does.

Not much in that area changed from 2020 to 2022. DeSantis won on positive accomplishments and messages.
Kemp is sufficiently anti MAGA and anti populist anti Trump so the ballot gate keepers let him thru.

Wrong, DeSantis did a lot to lock down the vote fraud. The first a couple of days much was said about the fact Ron locked it down. Then that story got killed and it became the BS narrative that it was the DeSantis positive message. That crock was pushed especially hard on FNC by Ryan and the Murdoch kids.

The under-30 vote went 47% democrat in 1968 and 46% in 1972, this was during the Vietnam war, riots, the draft, hippies, civil rights, Woodstock, Nixon, etc.
Gen Z is learning that it will soon be removed from the jobs pool by the “corporatists” who cannot manage under crazed inflationary JoeBama and FedReserve “controls” coupled with INSANE impossible to supply “green” “woke” energy. They ALL know they MUST have certain things to live— and it will be taken away from them. Then watch their reaction. They will be buying firearms and doing AntFA FASCIST LEFTIST things, for which they will be punished— in place. Dead on action.
Because other generations will not tolerate the Z gen’s self indulgence and FORCED socialism. Not one whit.

I believe that independents, who are the fastest growing cohort of the electorate, could easily find Kemp an acceptable choice, while at the same time finding Walker less so...
I also suspect this will be a continuing factor as the indy’s flex their new found muscle and influence...
I would like to see a lot more detailed analysis, by county, by city etc before I could believe that 8% split their ticket.

electoral politics will be very very unusual going forward; when the aging white population passes away, and their progeny finds itself in minority voting status...there will be fracturing in party loyalties, less adherence to party interest, and the desire by the populace to be beholden to nobody...
the political philosophy that cannot adapt will die an ugly death...
