Homes of rich and wealthy people require many service crews that come onto the property from weekly to daily to perform required task to maintain the property.
Some may live on the island and others ferried over on regular schedules.
The man arrested was a Jamaican immigrant. He was employed as a landscaper.
Apparently, he was not making a livable wage mowing rich peoples lawns. So, him and his buddies decided to rob a bank.
He most likely overstayed his visa. ‘
At one point in time New England used to get a fair amount of Jamaican here on work visas. They would pick apples here in NH in the fall. They might have also worked the cranberry bogs down on Cape Cod too.
Most of them were decent hard working guys. They would return to Jamaica in late fall before winter. They would work the tourist season down in the Caribbean. Then return in the spring to pick produce from Florida all the way up to Maine in the fall.
