Has the GOP Learned Anything After the 2022 Midterms?
American Thinker ^ | 11/21/2022 | Brian C. Joondeph

The congressional midterm elections are thankfully over.

Predictions of a red wave, including by yours truly, didn’t materialize. Instead, it was more of a pink trickle with the GOP flipping the House. The Senate is still up for grabs, with the best outcome for the GOP being a 50-50 split, depending on the Georgia run-off results.

Red wave predictions made sense at the time, given President Biden’s unpopularity and incompetence, leading to a declining America. This includes 40-year high inflation, a recession, open borders, energy shortages, supply chain disruptions, World War III simmering in Ukraine, and a woke culture ruining the lives of children and families.

By comparison, President Obama, in his first term midterm election in 2010, oversaw his party being shellacked. In those elections, Republicans gained seven Senate seats and 63 House seats. Obama presided over a better economy, was somewhat competent, and certainly more coherent and charismatic than Biden, yet if this year’s midterms were any referendum on Biden, he outshined Obama.

How did this happen? And in an eerily similar fashion to the 2020 elections. Has the Republican Party learned anything in the past few election cycles? Or have voters voiced their preference for personal and national decline over prosperity, choosing to make America weak rather than strong?

One obvious explanation is the election process. Republicans focus on winning votes while Democrats concentrate on gathering ballots. Joseph Stalin said, "It's not the people who vote that count, it's the people who count the votes."

There are quasi-legal ballot maneuvers including ballot-harvesting, mass mailings of ballots weeks or months before the actual election, extended counting, ranked voting, and similar election procedures enacted with Republican support or minimal resistance.

Then there are seemingly illegal maneuvers, many outlined in Dinesh D’Souza’s documentary, 2,000 Mules. Funny how vote counting stopped on election night in swing districts, only to resume the next day with a winning Republican on election night replaced by a winning Democrat when the sun came up. Or voting machines mysteriously malfunctioning on Election Day in high GOP turnout precincts. For example, in this midterm, 48 percent of Maricopa County election centers suffered problems. Or random vote count spikes always favoring the Democrat candidate. Or phantom ballots and voters based on neglected voter rolls.

2022 was a repeat of 2020, with Republicans caught flat-footed once again, or else complicit in another “selection” rather than an “election.” Concepts like cleaning up the voter rolls, signature verification, same-day voting with few exceptions, paper ballots, and even consideration of a national holiday to eliminate the need for early voting, all seem to be lost on Republican lawmakers, preferring a system that Democrats take full advantage of and Republicans cannot even grasp, much less utilize to their advantage, leading to predictable outcomes.

Unlikely.
There’s the stupid party and the dangerous party, and we’re going to keep digging down on stupid.

With a 50-50 split in Senate Committees, Dems can’t conduct the kind of Jan.6 showtrials like the House is doing. If Dems gain 51 seats, then Dems will control all the Committees and the action will shift to Senate. We can look forward to non-stop political clownshows in the Senate like the House has been conducting.

Nope. As long as stealing elections make the Socialist Stalinists happy, the GOOBers are fine with it.

You’re right.

Maybe if they could just learn that many people are good like your family and friends but others are despicably evil and dishonest, cheating on election counts and persecuting the former President out of banana republic spite.

So reaching across the aisle to them might get your hand chewed off.

They will never learn - the left has a secret army of election fraudsters.

Step 1: We need a secret army of special forces disrupters - like the Swamp Fox disrupted supply lines. They'll be outnumbered 100 to 1 but that's ok; the enemy army is mostly drugged out freakazoids.

The good secret army would disrupt enough election fraud operations covertly to make the fraudsters lose. If late night fake ballot counting occurs, the power goes out and the fire alarm is tripped. Trucks of fake ballots develop engine trouble - that sort of thing. Nobody would ever know why the ballot harvesters couldn't make their schedule - its a good secret army.

Step 2: When the fraudsters lose, aggressively implement strict election reform. Step 1 can be reduced to a few investigators to see what new methods they try to think up.

Problem: Nobody ever listens to me.

Learned anything??????

I learned that when the Dims had 220 and the Rs had 213, they did a hellava lot of damage.

Now, our numbers are Rs 220 and the Dims are 213 and OOOOOO< that is horrible, that is a loss, that is not a wave...and this crap is coming from the anchors at Newsmax, of all places.

I usually record the morning/afternoon/shows, but the last couple of days they have been dreadful. THEY CANNOT FIND ENOUGH REASONS TO COMPLAIN, FIND FAULT WITH THE ELECTION, SAY THE Rs AREN’ DOING THE RIGHT THING...

AND THEY HAVE NOT EVEN TAKEN CONTROL YET!!!!!!!

I’m sick of it. Now, I watch National News and John Bachman in the morning and forget Newsmax the rest of the day.

BY THE WAY, WE WON THE EVER-ELUSIVE NATIONAL VOTE.

along with many, many local, important seats.

But I’m just a silly female, who is a realist.

People keep saying it was a “trickle.” Back out the fraud and it was a wave. When 70% of the country say we’re on the wrong path, you know it was overwhelming for Republicans.

The short answer is no. Republicans haven't learned a thing. I left the Democrat Party years ago and came over to the conservative side only to find the GOP had evolved into a kind of ‘’Democrat Party Lite.’’

Where is the fire in the belly of the GOP?

Why did they frustrate Trump at nearly every turn?

Because the Swamp is an incestuous ''Uniparty of career hacks determined to keep the whole rotten system going and Trump represents the greatest threat to this little cluster f they've got going on in DC.

More than any other factor, the presence of millions of new Gen Z voters streamed out the gate and will be flooding the electorate going forward. Gen Z is hard core leftist, with a radically different view of what America is and should be. These people have been fully inculcated with woke ideology and embrace it fully. The also embrace marxism far more than any generation before them, nearly half are atheist, and nearly all of them are strident adherents of gun confiscation, restriction of 1st Amendment rights on those who don’t agree with them, “climate change” extremism, abortion without restriction, and unlimited “rights” for the “LGBT” alphabet crowd. They do not respect property rights, and liberty and the Constitution mean absolutely nothing to them.

So, while it’s important to tackle the incidences of fraud, and there are many, we should all clear understand there is a much more fundamental threat to the future of this country, and it lies with the aforementioned emerging demographic.

Gonna have to say nope. They allowed rampant fraud to happen, again. They will allow rampant fraud to happen, again.
Nutless wonders, is all they are. Seems like most of the balls in the GOP belong to women. Sad.
