An attacker opened fire in a gay nightclub late Saturday, killing five people and wounding 18, officials said. The club said the suspect was subdued by patrons.
Authorities received a report of a shooting at Club Q at 11:57 p.m. and responded within minutes, said Lt. Pamela Castro of the Colorado Springs Police Department.
A 22-year-old gunman walked into the club and immediately began firing from a “long rifle,” police said. Two firearms were found at the scene.
The gunman was taken into custody around five minutes after police first received a call about the shooting at Club Q. Police said early Sunday morning the suspect was also being treated at the hospital.
“The hospitals are helping us to notify families of the injured… we do have officers at every hospital with all the victims,” said Lt. Pamela Castro.
Castro had few details beyond the number of dead and wounded. She confirmed the suspect was injured but didn’t know how and that the FBI was on the scene and assisting.

Note also the name of the “shooter” (not killer as it can only be alleged)... is the classic 3 name moniker— all 3 names whether or not they even use them themselves.

Idiotic reporting following a script. Got to ban those “long rifles” which double in meaning to “military “style” assault weapons” (which assault weapons, knives,bayonets, stilletto?) not... assault rifles which are select fire machine guns- single, 3 shot/pull, full auto select.

He was known at least to local police for a bomb threat/standoff arrest one mile away from the club about a year ago.

Could be. I found it interesting that the report of his prior bomb threat arrest didn’t include a photo but said one would be posted “later”.
He's the type of person the FBI recruits to do their dirty work for them. Wonder if he was in Washington on January 6th?
