Jack Smith, the special counsel appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland to investigate former president Donald Trump’s possession of classified information, was a key figure in the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)’s infamous targeting of conservative non-profits, according to a 2014 report by Republicans on the House Oversight Committee.
On Oct. 8, 2010, Smith, then-Chief of the DOJ Criminal Division’s Public Integrity Section at the time, called a meeting with former IRS official Lois Lerner “to discuss how the IRS could assist in the criminal enforcement of campaign-finance laws against politically active nonprofits,” according to testimony from Richard Pilger, then director of the section’s Election Crimes Branch and subordinate of Smith’s, to the Oversight Committee.

It’s disgusting to me as a taxpayer, that ANYONE who advised or helped the IRS do illegal political targeting, be chosen for such a political based investigation. This is proof positive that it’s election interference. It’s revolting that the media doesn’t expose this on a daily basis. This is anti democracy, illegal government interference, as was done to the Tea Party all over again.
Everyone should ask why it’s happening again. The answer, like for the election fraud, is that nobody physically hung the first time.

Demonkkraps don’t believe that a word of what you wrote applies here. In fact they would say the exact opposite. The media and big tech is in place to keep the GOP in check and where possible, destroy them, and any judge who opposes them. US is in the fight for its life right now.

IIRC, this IRS scandal also gave rise to Catherine Emglebrect’s “Trie the Vote.” I don’t remember details but she was involved by not getting an exemption for a non-profit….or something.
