Doesn’t matter what the motive or reason was....bottom line is guy goes into bar shoots/murders dead 5 and injures 18 others. THAT is the story.
It wouldn’t even be a story if a protected class murdered a bunch of non-protected class.
Unless it fit some other agenda, of course.
It appears that Colorado abolished the death penalty on 2020 but the shooter will have a public trial, where he can take the stand and tell us all about his motives.
He will be found guilty and be sentenced to five life terms plus ~200 years in prison.
Actually, it does matter. If the dude is white and straight, it will be used politically. If he is gay or black or black and gay the story will be buried.
In a perfect world you are correct. A guy murders some people and should be prosecuted for such regardless of his color or sexual preferences. It does not work that way in the media nor in court.
