This United States Postal Service (USPS) worker wants you to become a postal worker — and his main selling point is a six-figure salary.
The USPS is experiencing a worker shortage across the country. It’s causing delivery delays and forcing staff to work overtime. Missouri postman and TikToker Lukas posted a screenshot of his paycheck to recruit more workers.
Lukas shared that he earned $4,423 in two weeks and six figures in a year. But it did come at the cost of working an additional 23 hours of overtime.
“We need help and the post office pays well,” he said. “The post office pays well and we’re hiring. We need help desperately.”

Mail carriers are working 23 hours overtime in a week. Actually, I know a few, and they’re working more like 70-80 hours/week.
Spot on a government union delivering ballots what could wrong.
JFK let public service unionize for a reason teachers wink.
“Yes, but do you get the full government medical? That’s worth a fortune per month.”
What exactly is full government medical? USPS employees pay around $400-$500/ month for medical insurance
“You probably aren’t wrong. Those temporary workers are not Union members, so they wouldn’t get the same pay or benefits that specifically apply to Civil Service employees, or the benefits that are negotiated in the contract.”
Civil Service employees? The USPS hasn’t been Civil Service for decades.
That would likely be a PMR, postmaster reserve or some such. I met a guy doing that job making $10/hour back then.
Unions killed the Post Office? After Bush era rules about pre-funding retirement accounts out to 75 years finally went away, the USPS is back to showing a profit.
It CAN pay well, but one must bust their asses for it. If you have one of those slack jobs indoors, you don’t make the same money.
Didn't realize that. I thought their jobs were styled after most government positions, Civil Service job titles that bring higher grades, and more salary, and performance evaluation raises once a year. In the job I worked, every position from Lieutenant down is based on Civil Service exams. Captain and up are political appointees as I'm sure the USPS has that too. I know the Postal Service is Unionized, which caused me to believe that their hiring for permanent employees required the passing of a Civil Service test.
And then there’s the Soros money for the USPS people helping election fraud.
USPS hasn’t been Civil Service since the early 80’s...and the only political appointee is the Postmaster General of the US.
Absolutely. Get rid of it but dream on. Not going to happen.
I sure dont need mail 6 days a week either. 3 would be more than enough. Could save billions.
USPO is a relic that needs to go..
I think im going to cry
Our local postmaster said just yesterday they can’t hire enough people because they can’t pass the drug tests.
I hear you. It’s a mystery to me why govt. workers need a union.
Whoa. Never thought of that.
We are so screwed if this keeps up.
Working for the post office isn’t nearly as lucrative as screwing the taxpayers when working for a TLA (three letter agency).
Nope, unless you live in the rural areas in south or midwest
