EXCLUSIVE: Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis' team is distancing itself from a super PAC boosting him as a candidate in the 2024 presidential race and the future of the Republican Party.
In a letter sent Friday to DeSantis' donors, Benjamin Gibson, legal counsel for DeSantis, said he had "recently learned through media reports that a super PAC apparently named ‘Ron to the Rescue’ ('PAC') is being formed reportedly ‘in order to boost a potential 2024 presidential run from Governor Ron DeSantis.’ This is similar to other ‘pro-DeSantis’ PACs that have formed and continue to use Ron DeSantis’ name and likeness to raise funds without his permission or authorization."
"Whether well intentioned or not, the organizers of these PACs have not been in contact with DeSantis leadership and such efforts may create confusion amongst supporters of the Governor and his policies," Gibson wrote.

DeSantis is no dummy. He just won re-election as Governor. Even if he does intend to run, this is not the time to announce, or even make hints that he will. Best plan for him, whichever way he chooses, is to walk away from this. At this time, at least.

Nevertheless, now that Trump has announced, every day DeSantis fails at least to hint at a potential run for the 2024 Pubbie POTUS nomination is a day that his prospects for successfully entering, much less eventually winning, that race continue to dwindle, while Trump’s prospects drift skyward.

Is it possible that DeSantis does not want to run for president?
Is it possible he does not want to make any definitive public statements about the future, because he could be a choice to be someone’s vice presidential running mate in 2024?
Is it possible he’s happy to stay out of 2024 but thinking about future years , if he ever does want to run for president?
What happened to that commercial which depicted Desantis as a saint sent from God?

DeSantis is not an idiot.
Yeah I’m sure a little over 700 days until the election makes things mighty decisive. Give me a break! it’s insane to run a freaking two-year election campaign. I actually think Canada and England have it best. 60 days prior to election is only allowable campaign time.
DeSantis’s wife just went thru cancer treatments. Hopefully he will not put her thru the turmoil that conservative candidates endure.
It did its job. He won election with 59% of the Florida voters. I still can’t believe how he creamed every other race in the country. The guy is incredible. However, I want him to wait a year before announcing he’s running for president because it’s an idiotic to get in now. If he decides not to run, that’s fine too 2028 is our year to win the back to presidency anyway.
Gavin Newsom ran commercials in Florida to make DeSantis look good and Joe Biden made a speech there to do the same thing.

Get real...That commercial made most people cringe and that’s likely the reason it disappeared.
Why would he continue showing the commercial when the election is over? Do you have no clue about marketing. Obviously the Floridian voters loved it.
Come back after the first poll after DeSantis announces his candidacy (if he does) and we’ll discuss the accuracy of your prediction.
It’s one thing to govern a state.
Another to govern the country.
We really don’t know what he’ll do.
Especially when he has no choice but to compromise with the GOPes and the deep staters in order to get what he wants.
And if the FBI decides to give him the treatment.
And the 24/7 media twist everything he does.

Could be, but the polling shows that Trump is the big dog in this fight. When you’re the little dog, you shut up, watch, and wait for your time, if it comes. DeSantis is a young man. He has time.
