Now that Republicans have officially captured majority control of the U.S. House of Representatives and will soon assume control of powerful House committees with subpoena power, there’s much work to be done.
Given the party deadlock that will likely prevent any significant legislative accomplishments, Republicans are expected to launch a series of investigations that could eventually lead to impeachment proceedings, but not necessarily against President Joe Biden, USA Today reported.
And Republicans are much more likely to score enough support to convict Mayorkas than Biden, at least for the time being.
Republican Rep. Andy Biggs of Arizona is already leading the way in setting the scene for a possible Mayorkas impeachment trial. The Arizona lawmaker referred a resolution saying as much to the House Judiciary Committee in August 2021.
According to The Washington Times, Biggs renewed that call as recently as September, as illegal border crossings continued to set nightmarish records.

Biggs’ 2021 resolution, and likely many others, have collected dust for the past year. However, when Republicans take the pilot’s seat in January 2023, it’s all but sure that they’ll start blowing off the dust.

In October, the two Republican senators penned a letter to the DHS secretary in which they accused him of “gross dereliction of duty,” referring to the abysmal situation at the southern border.
Mayorkas doesn’t need to be impeached. That maggot needs to be deported.
I’ll be the GOP could get all the Marthas up at the Vineyard to support them after that horrible trauma they had to experience when they were invaded by those Venezuelan illegal aliens.
Beat me to it
He’s a retard. Garland is a corrupt dishonest man who has turned the DOJ into a tool of political repression.
... at least. I was thinking of something more ... permanent, something that saves the taxpayers the price of an airplane ticket. The number ‘45’ comes to mind ...
He’s been a Clinton stooge for thirty years!
And just how is that supposed to be successful?
Bringing charges alone is nothing more than kabuki theater if there is no chance of conviction in the Senate...and there is no chance of that.
I am betting there will be widespread resistance to their subpoenas and little pushback from the press, as before but worse.
You have got to at least show the American people you are trying to improve their lives, though you can’t get a damn thing thru the Senate. Give them a reason to vote for you instead of against some boogeymen.
[Pretty sure thats what happened to the red wave. Total republican votes were way up but not in blue areas.]
You want the truth? O.K., the Republicans will impeach nada, zip, zilch, zero, nothing, no one.
The RINOS are still in control. The Republican party is a dead end. A strawman for the democrats. If you believe the Republicans are ever going tomount an effort against the Democrats t
hen your as stupid as the Dems say you are. The ehole GOP ball if shiet needs to be burnt to the ground. There is no middleground, never was. The Dems have eaten your lunch since day one. We need people who are fed up and damned mad enough to do something about it. Just wait til the next election, or the next election, or the one after that. Yokels and hayseeds.
Seems to me that, rather than impeachment talk, the discussion ought to be around the fraud that was perpetrated during the 2022 election that allowed these degenerates to remain in power? The 2020 election could be thrown in there for good measure....
Don’t forget Meritless Garland’s using his office to jail moms that objected to the garbage text books his daughter was pushing on Va school boards.
