407,000 is as close as one can get, given that bodies are not always in one piece and some were not even that ‘together’, if they were even found. Of the 407,000, the number of Army AF that were killed was 80,000.

The largest loss of American life in WW2 was during the Normandy Campaign from June 1944 though to the end of August ‘44. Some 29,000 men were killed, wounded or captured.

Have you ever been to the WW2 Memorial in DC?

I have. It’s beautiful.
