The largest loss of American life in WW2 was during the Normandy Campaign from June 1944 though to the end of August ‘44. Some 29,000 men were killed, wounded or captured.

Have you ever been to the WW2 Memorial in DC?

Fun fact: In the Normandy landing in the first hour, 4,000 men were killed.
