I don’t know how granular this is but I believe the (now Republican) house controls the expenditure of money. If the funding for this special prosecutor disappears so would the investigation.
They can defund it two ways directly by taking it out if the budget. Make the Rat choose funding it or a budget standoff or use the Holman Rule.
