Attorney General Merrick Garland to name special counsel in Trump criminal probe, report says
cnbc ^

U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland will appoint a special counsel to determine whether criminal charges should be filed against former President Donald Trump in connection with two pending investigations, according to reports Friday.

News of the planned appointment of the special counsel, which was reported by The Wall Street Journal, came three days after Trump announced plans to run for president in 2024. The Republican faces multiple criminal investigations.

NBC News reported that the special counsel, whose name has not been announced, will make decisions for two Department of Justice investigations of Trump.

One is focused on whether Trump broke the law and obstructed justice in connection with his removal of hundreds of documents from the White House, which were shipped to his residence at Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida. The other probe is related to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot by a mob of Trump supporters.

Can he appoint someone to investigate himself?

I think DeSantis rocks, but just not sure he’ll be able to pull the enormous crowds Trump has managed time and time again even to this day.

A healthy primary process should be waged no doubt, but I fear the Dems, deep state, globalist and RINOs will try to divide the party thus leading to a big goose egg.

oh good...
We can have competing special councils. One going after trump the other going after biden. And then we can have every politician on capital hill followed around by a special council. It would be a whole another branch of government. The office of special councils to investigate the special councils investigating the politicians who are criminally conspiring to create another special council office.

"I love DeSantis, but he doesn’t evoke the blood-hate from the globalists that Trump does."

That is only because DeSantis's influence is largely limited to Florida. He is already hated on the left, and the minute he becomes a serious and declared contender for the Republican nomination, he will be the new Hitler, worse than Trump, blah blah blah.

"There was no staged insurrection,"

The communists staged most of those demonstrations. Just like they did back in the 1800's.

He’s been on their radar since Covid - before that he was as conservative as Mike Pence.

DeSantis wasn’t on their radar till recently.

We learned the DNC/FBI/CIA had "Russian collusion" ready to go the day Trump announced his candidacy in June 2015. Obama, Rice had already given permission to "contractors" ie) Democrat operators, to begin spying on Trump through fraudulent NSA Sec. 702 queries

Do they see Desantis as such a threat? He better get in the game if he wants to be taken seriously.

This clown is getting in way over his head. He should be looking DHS Sec, Mayorkas for lying to Congress and Schiffty for lying to Congress for example.

“I think DeSantis rocks, but just not sure he’ll be able to pull the enormous crowds Trump has managed time and time again even to this day.”

DeSantis doesn’t try to draw big crowds. He does, however, draw voters.

Trump has proven that drawing crowds is not a guaranteed win.

DeSantis has proven that you do not need to draw big crowds to win BIG.

He was one of them. A huge Democrat until he wanted to run for president and then he changed. That’s why they’re afraid of him because he knows their secrets.

What is your point? That DeSantis is more conservative than Trump?
