Wrong. DeSantis ignored Trump on mail voting. And it’s why he did well. The Florida GOP basically invented mass mail voting. And it worked. Almost as many Republicans vote by mail in Florida as Democrats:

DeSantis has demographics on his hands. Lots of retiring people moved to Florida who are Republican. 65+ is the most Republican age group. Once you get into your 80s, vote by mail is so much easier.
Also, the Cubans have been moving back to the Republican party after being scared at first by the media about Trump.
That's selling DeSantis short. Florida has been a swing state going back a long time -- we all remember the Bush-Gore election, and that was long before mail in vote fraud was a problem. His margin of victory was easily the highest of any Republican since the election of 1868.
Getting rid of mail-in voting fraud just put DeSantis on the same level as prior Republicans, and he still outperformed all of them. He's definitely got something going on.
