Senator Ben Sasse (R-NE) enjoyed several firsts in his short political career, making him a conservative outcast. For instance, he supported the “Never Trump” movement months before any other Republican. Likewise, he was the first GOP senator to speak out against efforts to contest the 2020 Electoral College ballots and to support impeaching former President Donald Trump after the January 6 Capitol Hill riots. However, in a recent twist, he’s headed out of Washington DC — perhaps for good.
On November 9, the Florida Board of Governors, which oversees the state’s university system, approved Sasse’s appointment as president-elect of the University of Florida (UF). The university’s Board of Trustees voted unanimously to select Sasse as UF’s 13th president.
Actually, a most interesting change for the University of Florida.
Why do many colleges hire incompetents or liars as their adminhstrators?
Goodbye Mitt Sasse!
Pay off?
As conservative as possible for Gainesville.
Sasse will be ever so slightly less liberal, even just by his past exposure to conservatives in Congress, than many other University presidents. For him, a good time to leave with a nice gig in a college town full of liberals surrounded by an otherwise red county.
Because it’s a way around the lobbyist regulations.
Ben Sasse is ostensibly a university president, but his job will ential meeting with government officials for funding or any laws that might affect the university.
Don’t let the door hit Ben Sasse on the way out.
Who will be his replacement?
And stay the #### out of Nebraska while you’re at it.
ha ha
the LEFT doesnt want him either
there were a lot of protests over his appointment
“ Who will be his replacement?”
**********************************
Republican Governor Ricketts will name a replacement to fill the vacancy until the next general election in 2024. Since Ricketts has been feuding with the Trump wing of the state party, I don’t have hopes for the best selection. But I sure hope I’m pleasantly surprised.
Don't know but the Republican Governor selects the replacement.
Read he’s on the FTX list
Worthless POS!
Old news
Cause they know where the government money spigots are and how to open them.
We aure are in deep doo doo
