Stuart Varney's show on Fox Business has been a staple for me in the mornings for a very long time. I liked him — his story, his style, and the way he brings along others to build their careers. He has always maintained his dignity and been civil to his guests.
Now, however, he has a full-blown case of Trump Derangement Syndrome and is blowing a long career for it. He doesn't like Trump. Okay, I get it. Since just before the election, however, he has become an activist and an unfair one at that. He has a segment called "my take" where he clearly states his opinions. The entire program is now "my take."
We are all disappointed in the election results, but he has put all his energy into lobbying for Ron DeSantis and destroying Trump. I don't think he is helping the Florida governor much. Neither Trump nor DeSantis nor the Republican Party needs a fight right now. But Varney wants one and is spending his hard fought success to get it.
He aggressively states at every possible point that he doesn't think Trump can win in 2024, and that DeSantis is the "future of the party." That is not for him to decide. He solicits virtually every guest to join his crusade — even if it means political suicide for the guest. He is personally outraged that Trump "smeared" DeSantis by calling him "Ron DeSanctimonius." Varney is far more upset about this than DeSantis is. For his part, DeSantis knows that his success will beget a lot worse comments than this, and he knows that a verbal volley with The Donald at this time is a bad idea.

If the establishment prefers DeSantos over Trump, I’m automatically suspicious.

Trump has very deep support...among a minority of voters.
I see him as the “presumptive R nominee” right now.
But Nov 24? Only time will tell.
first of all we don’t know if DeSantis is running, second if he does he will have to prove himself to Republicans like Trump had to do the first time he ran.
I watched half the people on FR in 2015 and 2016 say they would never vote for Trump in the primaries because he couldn’t be trusted as a “real conservative”, on judges and other social issues. He used to be a Democrat and had recently donated to Democrats, he was a phony, most were hard core Ted Cruz supporters.. They were vicious to Trump
They know who they are, they are still here.
Then they watched Trump roll right over every challenger (including their precious Ted) and then they jumped onboard the “Trump train” for the general election and waited to see how he would govern.. They then became Trump devotes like I long before was.
I now hope Desantis runs and let’s see like in 2016 who comes out on top.. He is the most conservative governor Florida has ever seen and if he runs it ought to be an epic battle with Trump.. good, I like them both for their polices and the way they govern, whoever wins the nomination we back that man 100% like we all did in 2016, it’s the only way we win back the White House.. To be the man you have to beat the man, right now Trump is the man
Despite the headline not mentioning it, this is just another in a long line of Trump vs Desantis threads.
This war between Trump fans and Desantis fans is SO STUPID!!!
1) It’s being instigated by enemies of the America First MAGA Movement. The more we get at each other’s throats, the happier our enemies will be. They are very happy right now. They are laughing at how easy it is to push our buttons.
2) We are nowhere near a point where we have to choose between these two great men. Look at past races… we went all the way to the very end of the primaries before the nominee is known - the long process of different state primaries and caucuses determines who the nominee will be - not our bickering two years ahead of time.
3) The strong opinions and mudslinging that is taking place now has zero impact on who the nominee will be - it only helps the enemy.
Yet, tomorrow on FR there will be twenty or thirty more headlines posted which were written by fake news sources with the sole purpose of ginning up this battle between King Kong and Godzilla - hoping to destroy the MAGA movement.
Why do so many on FR go along with this BS and let themselves be played like a fiddle?

Not sure about that. There is too much visceral hatred for Trump. Not sure if that is true for DeSantis.

I don’t have a short memory! Doesn’t matter who runs as a Republican, they are going to lose. Ballot harvesting is the libs game. Unless voting rules change, pubbies will never win the presidency again.
He won by 20 points because the DNC pulled all the vote fraud money out of Florida and spent it elsewhere.

I ditched FNC in October 2020 when their FNF weekend host Jedidiah Bila went on a rant about Trump over some concocted nonsense of the day and I about threw the remote at the tv. I said that is it, I’m done with these pretend journalists at FNC and turned the channel to something else. I consider FNC nothing more than liberal crapola with a red, white and blue chyron and some tits and a$$ thrown in.
I will watch Maria Bartiromo and Carlson from time to time on Youtube but essentially from that day on we don’t watch the news anymore on tv at our house unless it’s for weather during a local station broadcast.
