“To eliminate cheating, I will immediately demand voter ID, same-day voting, and only paper ballots. … And we want all votes counted by election night.”

He can demand whatever he wants but they’re not going to give it to him.

Unconstitutional federal takeover of state sovereignty is NOT a good precedent.
Agreed

Trump needs...
IMO, what Trump or the next R president needs is a Justice Department willing to enforce the US Constitution and current Federal Election laws.

The Constitution prescribes how the states are to elect its federal officers and there doesn't appear to be any reason for a change in that regard.

However, the DOJ should step in before the Congress receives any certifications from a state that does not conform in accordance with the Constitution.

The only “federal election” is the Electoral College vote.

No, a republican form of government simply means the people are in charge of their own state. It doesn’t extend to federal interference with HOW the people choose to govern their state.

Ut's not "simply" that. It's that plus more.

The ultimate source of authority is NOT the federal government NOR is it the state government. It is the people!

Bill of Rights Institute:Republican Government

Any law or action at the state level by the state government that denies the people as the ultimate source of authority is unconstitutional.

As I said at the beginning, "if one can demonstrate that the lack of voter ID, the use of machines and any state laws that are associated with that, are abridging people's rights to a republican form of government, then no amendment is needed."

Almost like he just wasn’t quite feeling it.

Agreed.

No matter how it is colored, he took another pounding with the results of the mid-terms, probably isn't sleeping or eating worth a damn. He also may have just settled some unpleasant family issues (even if it was for the better). He probably could use some good news for a change, or lot more time in the gym.

I think an argument can be made there.
I think arguments to USSC on this must be made along the same lines as arguments made regarding the voting disenfranchisement of blacks there were made.

Yes, I think so. A lack of voter ID and black box voting machines are two examples where I think people are being disenfranchised from their vote.

“...blacks there were made....”
Should be “..blacks that were made. “

What’s his plan?

Until the cheating is fixed, I’m not getting excited about anyone.

Trump needs to set up an effective early voting and ballot harvesting operation.

Today would be a good day to start organizing those operations.

TRUMP VOWS TO RESTORE HONESTY, INTEGRITY TO U.S. ELECTIONS

My understanding is that the states and not the federal government have Constitutional power to make voter/election law for their respective state. This is why today, some states allow anyone to use a mail-in ballot - others not; some states use drop boxes - others not; some states used dominion or similar machines - others not; some states require same-day voting - others not .....

Trump or Congress can't fix this outside a Constitutional amendment. I believe we need a Constitutional amendment that makes voter/election law uniform across the nation. However, that amendment would need to affect the following:

- Paper ballots only
- Same-day voting only
- In person voting requiring photo-id with exception for shut-ins and military.
- Bullet-proof chain of custody and audit ability for ballots from ballot submission to final ballot count.
- Outlaw projections.
- Outlaw announcing winners until after the last precinct in the nation has closed.

The real question is can Trump beat a female candidate for
President. Look for one on the ballot come Nov. 5, 2024.

The Democrats and socialists see the government governed by the majority. The see ballots as measurement of that majority. Ballots not votes. Votes imply action by a voter. Ballots are just a measurement of the will of the people.

To a Democrat Socialist they are always in the right because they feel they represent the majority and for them there is no government of laws, only government of the majority — and they speak for that majority.

The Constitution allows for the US Congress to set the voting rules where Federal Elections are concerned.

Can you please cite chapter and verse? More info please. Thanks.

Article I, Section 4:

The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of choosing Senators.

I don’t see how POTUS, past or future, can change POTUS elections, but Article I, Section 4 let’s Congress override state laws for its own elections. And Congress is allowed to set A date for national elections. I agree with risks of interning with states here. Use is I §4 thus should be narrowly targeted and argued. Argue that although states should control elections for their own business, Federal offices affect all states and delays in knowing Federal results affects all states. Thus elections for Federal offices should be conducted so that their results are normally available in a timely manner. States and counties worldwide demonstrate most results can become available within a day even in quite large and poorly developed nations. If states’
ish to conduct elections for their own offices differently they may. Some states may choose to follow the fast Federal model for themselves and piggyback all on the same date. Others may chose slower methods for themselves, on same or different election days. All must follow the timely Federal model for Federal races. States may run other elections as they see fit, accepting whatever added costs their choices entail.
