Texas governor declares invasion at border, invokes constitutional powers in historic action
Just the news ^ | 11/15/2022 | By John Solomon

Frustrated by an unending crisis fueled by drug and human trafficking at the southern border, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Tuesday declared his state was under an invasion and invoked special powers granted under the U.S. and Texas constitutions.

Abbott said his declaration would begin efforts to:

Deploy the National Guard to the border to repel illegal immigrants, and the Texas Department of Public Safety to arrest and return illegal entrants to their home countries;

Build a border wall in multiple counties;

Deploy gun boats to secure the border;

Designate Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations;

Enter into a compact with other states to secure the border;

Enter into agreements with foreign powers to enhance border security;

And provide resources for border counties to increase their efforts to respond to the border invasion.

He was just re-elected by a huge margin. Beto went Nowhere.

Give Abbott a break, he is not doing a bad job.

Look, he was just re-elected for his 3rd term. By a large margin.

Could you see this 3 terms ago?

Why didn’t Abbott do this on his first day in office?“

That’s a good question. In fairness, why didn’t Trump militarize the border on his first day or any day of his office or any day for that matter?

If Texas is being invaded they need to create an armed posse of citizens to defend against and put a stop to the invasion. Perhaps a Constitutional crisis would force DHS and Biden to enforce laws. This is costing taxpayers billions in taxpayer money to support and fund invaders that have no right to be here. They need to solicit volunteer defenders from other states. At least Abbott tried something, although it should have been done in 2021. Republicans are always afraid of elections and of a lying Democrat media, and maybe rightfully so before the last election.

Exactly.
Biden screwed up Trump’s good policies that were working
And Demx were getting ready to allow even more
At least they won’t come in through here in Texas.

Instead of complaining people should be glad

In defense of Abbott, he did win election by 11 percentage points. The other three states that border Mexico are or will be run by Democrats, and will be open to unlimited immigration. Abbott should also control Texas’s border with New Mexico. He should also beef up the Texas State Guard, not the National Guard, which can be federalized. In addition, the Texas Rangers and the state police need to closely monitor the actions of Federal law enforcement. Florida, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Arkansas are probable allies. Louisiana is under a Democratic governor, but his term expires next year.

Jobama’s bosses are not going to like this. They will likely try to sue Governor Abbot but that will just expose the reality of the invasion. Will there then be a federal invasion of Texas?

I don’t think he needed to. He effectively controlled the border with the remain in Mexico policy, the wall, and the Border Patrol.

Trump did this and would have finished if not for the corrupt posers in both parties...

Now you show me what the corrupt entrenched Republican's have done in the past 50 GD years. How about some links, video, anything. Lets see it!

Would have nice if he’d done this before 5 MILLION illegals came in but at least he’s doing it.

Yes, God Bless Abbott! He does what he can, when he can. No one knows what things he can’t do until the time permits.

Is anyone here helping him?

Maybe Robert Francis O’Rourke is your cup of tea then.

Agree.

I was one of the very first people who supported Abbott for Governor. And he knows it. I had an exchange with him on Twitter about an issue when he was Texas AG, in that exchange I told him that I wanted him to be the next Governor of Texas. That was a long time ago.

He was an excellent AG, he won a huge number of cases in Federal Court with the monster in DC. I respect his legal understanding and the job he has done for 2 terms as Governor.

You can believe what I just wrote or not. Makes no difference it is the truth.

Meanwhile in Arizona ‘Karen’ Hobbs will be tearing down the wall.

Then let the people of AZ deal with the horrific influx of criminal, disease riddled, illegal aliens and see how they like it.

While Gov. Abbott should've done this long ago (and many would've called it a political stunt if he did) at least he's doing something now. Better than "Beto" would've done by a longshot.
