they did this in Texas....a few lib republicans voted with the Dems to pick the most liberal republican as speaker
disgraceful
but hardly surprising

This is good news, the GOP needs to power share with their friends across the aisle. I also think they should extend an olive branch to the media, I’m sure the media will become friends as well.

Why? They are never going to vote yes on a republican sponsored bill.Ever. They have a different definition of the word “cooperation” and “compromise” To them it means “do it our way, period”

This election year is getting more and more disgusting, and surreal. If tomorrow the GOP decided to pick Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as Speaker, I wouldn’t be surprised.
After all, it would be a “healing” moment.

For example, Republican Rep. Don Bacon (R-NB) told NBC News on Monday he would be willing to work with Democrats to select a Speaker if the Republican Party does not rally behind one candidate during Tuesday’s vote. “I will support Kevin McCarthy, but if we do get to that point, I do want the country to work and we need to govern. We can’t sit neutral; we can’t have total gridlock for two years,” Bacon told NBC.
Bizzaro world. We can't have total gridlock for two years? YES WE CAN!

Swear away.

Now we have to waste another election cycle by starting a new party….since we don’t actually have any party at all.

This shouldn’t surprise anyone, establishment GOP has long been allied with and working with the dems to defeat any non-establishment types.

Cheney’d make a good speaker.

Why is it the dims hold strong to their agenda no matter how ridiculous, but republicans always want to “reach across the aisle”? When have democrats reached across the aisle?
