Marc Lotter to Newsmax: Trump GOP 'Champ' Until Beaten
Newsmax ^ | Monday, 14 November 2022 | Jay Clemons

Marc Lotter, communications director for the America First Policy Institute, didn't spend much time in a recent interview projecting which hypothetical Republican Party candidates might serve as "serious" challengers to former President Donald Trump in the 2024 GOP presidential primaries.

"I'll use a boxing analogy here: To be the champ, you've got to beat the champ. And if you want to get in that ring [for 2024], you're going to have to knock [Trump] out," Lotter told Newsmax on Monday, while appearing on "American Agenda" with host Bob Sellers.

"Our polling tells us that Trump is still the prohibitive favorite," to secure the GOP's 2024 nomination, said Lotter. "[Trump] energizes people. He brings new leadership into the Republican Party."

"The other [Republican] candidates need to think about that. They also need to consider whether they can mount a serious campaign," said Lotter. "Part of the answer lies in putting your name on the ballot and giving it a shot."

Lotter said Trump has plenty of momentum, and that could be conveyed in Tuesday's speculative presidential-announcement speech.

"I would expect [Trump] to highlight the results [of his presidency from 2017-21], and comparing the results of our country with President Trump, and the 'America First' leadership ... compared to what we've got today," Lotter said.

"And it's pretty clear. The differences are dramatic," said Lotter, while adding that when Trump left office in January 2021, the U.S. had low inflation, low gas and food prices, and there was "no embarrassment" in Afghanistan — a swipe at President Joe Biden's handling of the August 2021 withdrawal from that country.

Lotter added: "My advice would be to lean-in to the successes he had [in office]. ...

[Trump] should make the case of Are you better off now than you were two or three years ago? The answer is no."

It would be great to see Donald Trump in a presidential primary debate with Liz Cheney.

My most excellent Governor DeSantis just won a FOUR YEAR Term. Because so many Americans are Fetterman/Biden Voters we end up with demented, dim witted, drooling politicians in important and powerful positions. Please take note:

1. Paul (The Swamp) Ryan backs DeSantis.

2. Ken Griffin is in negotiations with DeSantis. DeSantis will be owned, unlike Trump.

3. Look at what Trump accomplished:

Gas price per gallon was about $2.30;
Inflation about 1.4%, mortgage rates were half of what they are now;
Unemployment was low before Covid and before Blue Governors shut everything
down and we were in the midst of a V-shape recovery until January 22, 2021;
Tax decrease; tax laws promoted small businesses as well as large;
US enjoyed energy independence - No Green Agenda, no war on energy, No Paris Treaty;
No war in Ukraine, no threat of nuclear war, NATO paid its way;
Little Rocket Man stopped playing with his toys;
China was quiet and we were winning the trade war;
Last 18 mos. In Afghanistan, not one Trooper was lost and the Taliban behaved;
ISIS was defeated.
US companies were bringing home the jobs due to well executed tax treatments;
Peace in the Middle East aka Abraham Accords; US Embassy moved to Jerusalem; and Iran was isolated.
Got three non-left “I don't know what a woman is” Supreme Court Justices on the bench allowing Roe vs Wade to be overturned.

Who the heck can accomplish the above in four years while being impeached twice and investigated by Obama's Weaponized Agencies?

Voter fraud prevents the GOP from winning the presidency, ever again. The GOP won’t do anything about ending voter fraud, and The Left will keep winning future U.S. elections, no matter what. Free and fair elections are extinct, throughout most of the U.S. Capitalism is dead. The GOP is dead. America is dead.

We hear your concern. But pleas stop spamming every thread with doom and gloom that we won’t win the Presidency ever again. It is lazy. Come up with a solution or something more productive to say.

Sorry, I don't think that the support of Paul Ryan necessarily means that DeSantis will be "owned."

One alternative explanation is that Ryan wants to back the perceived winning horse and reap the benefits. And Ryan has not yet alienated DeSantis. This is how the Game of Thrones is played.

The targeting of Trump by the Deep State and the Enemedia is enabled by his polarizing nature. Too many people viscerally loathe him for reasons that I still am trying to fathom. It certainly is not logical.
