When did Florida start fixing their election process? Was it right after the “hanging chad” mess? It was pretty embarrassing.

Some of it was fixed then. However, the big change came when Broward county kept adding ballots everyday after the 2018 election. They were trying to steal it from Rick Scott and Ron Desantis.
Scott was governor at the time and fired the election supervisor. Then Ron Desantis fired the one in Palm Beach County when he took over.
The laws no longer tolerate election week. It has to be counted that night, so there is no time for them to keep filling out ballots. Plus, they added a bunch of other security measures.
Would be nice if other states followed suit. Even if it means the Dems would win a race I’d rather be sure the election was on the level.
