Everything west of the River is traditionally Ukrainian speaking Ukrainians and putin accepts that.

Odessa and Mykolayiv provinces (west of the Dniper River) are mostly Russian-speaking. Outside of Donetsk and Luhansk, Odessa is probably Ukraine's most Russian province. The withdrawal of troops west of the Dniper was a huge blow to the Russians. That force was positioned to spearhead an eventual advance into Mykolayiv and Odessa.

Ukraine basically took over an empty city that the Russians didn't want to, at this time, want to defend because they didn't want utilize any resources on it.

That was obviously something that was known for months. Many here, including myself, pointed out it made no military sense for the Russians to stay there, and that they would leave before winter for that very reason.

But you absolutely rejected that argument, calling us liars and tools of western propaganda for making such a clearly false argument. You ridiculed the exact argument you are making right now.

You're a fraud.

You know who has lots of intelligence on Ukraine and has every incentive in the world to find even a single US soldier fighting for Ukraine? Vladimir Putin. Funny he hasn’t mentioned anything!

Kherson is only military insignificant to the Russia right now because Ukraine defeated the Russian advance at Mykolaiv back in March. That was before much military assistance was getting to Ukraine and quite an epic battle with civilian defense forces attacking Russian armor, etc.

This is another humiliating defeat for Putin and Russia. Naturally their fan club is going to minimize Ukrainian victories at all costs. There ultimate goal is for support to be withdrawn from Ukraine and that will allow Russia to regain strategic superiority. Russia is too corrupt and incompetent to win any other way.
