Republican US Navy Seal, Derrick Van Orden, Wins and Flips Former Dem House Seat in Wisconsin

U.S. Navy SEAL Derrick Van Orden flips a Democrat seat in the US House to the GOP.

American Military News reports:

U.S. Navy SEAL veteran Derrick Van Orden has flipped a Wisconsin congressional seat to Republicans as that party edges closer to control of the House of Representatives.

The SEAL veteran defeated Democratic state Sen. Brad Pfaff in a contest for the open seat left behind by retiring Democratic Rep. Ron Kind, who had held the seat since 1997, the Associated Press reported.

The flip of a Democrat-held seat comes as Republicans are hopeful to flip control of the House of Representatives.

Van Orden joined the Navy when he was 18 and served 26 years before retiring as a senior chief in the SEALs, having been deployed into combat five times, according to his website. He was also one of several active-duty SEALs to appear in the 2012 film “Act of Valor.”

Below is a moving scene from the movie Act of Valor with Van Orden.

Van Orden shares the following on his website.

Derrick Van Orden is an American patriot, retired Navy SEAL, husband, father, grandfather, and Christian. He met and married his wife, Sara Jane over 27 years ago.

Derrick and his brother were raised in rural poverty by their beloved mother, Carol, who taught them the importance of hard work and self-reliance. She was a fiery Irish farm girl who also taught them to speak plainly and never back down from a just fight.

America needs fighters right now especially in the US House of Representatives.

The US is under attack from within. Everything the Biden administration has done has hurt America and helped China.

It was closer than I might have wished, but a clear victory. It’s wonderful to say farewell to Kind, who, I predict, will remain in Washington and be well compensated.

Does anybody have an up-to-date count. The last I’ve seen the GOP has been stuck at 211 for at least a day, while the Dems have moved from the high 180’s to 200 with the remaining seats in Ca. and Or. not exactly GOP strongholds.

We’ve lost the Senate, probably literally, i.e., no Kamala needed. It’s look like it will be 51-49 democrats. It’s not looking good in the House at this point. I’m glad we won school boards in FL., but I’d rather win one of the Houses in DC.

A great win for another MAGA candidate. We can add Wesley Hunt from Texas and John James in Michigan, both black, West Point grads, Apache copter pilots and Ultra- MAGA. These three will enhance the voice of the growing Freedom Caucus in the House.

Don’t give up on the House. I think we look pretty good.

The majority will be so slim, even if the Pubbies win, the Rats will always be able to count on a few defections to get their way.

Wonder if he knows Eli Crane who flipped Arizona CD-2 to Republicans (due to redistricting no surprise). They both served as SEALS, Van Orden from 1998 to 2014 and Crane 2001-2014.

The Democrats are dragging this out to take away our victory celebration. They know we are going to win.
