If the Democrats had kept control of the house, and gained one Senate seat, elections as we know them would be gone forever.

The Democrats already controlled the House, Senate and the White House BEFORE these 2022 midterms. There isn’t a single thing they could accomplish in the scenario you presented that they can’t already do TODAY.

I disagree

The only thing that stopped those things from happening for the last two years were two Democrat Senator defectors, Arizona's Kyrsten Sinema and West Virginia's Joe Manchin.

Both of them were under intense pressure.

Both of them showed signs of faltering.

Their defection, and only their defection saved the Republic for the last two year.

Add one more Democrat senator, and it is unlikely they would hold.
