GAETZ: America Needs Trump Back In The White House
Daily Caller ^ | 11/11/22 | Matt Gaetz

Posted on 11/11/2022 4:19:18 PM PST by Pollard

I can rattle you off statistics about how much better America was two years ago. Gas prices were roughly half of what they are now. There was about a third less fentanyl crossing the border. We were also not on the brink of nuclear war with Russia.

You know how much better life was under President Donald Trump than Biden, you don’t need me to tell you that. It’s time now, though, to look to the future.

The job President Trump started was not finished. Only Trump can be trusted to enact the “America First” agenda he ran on in 2016. We won’t accept any imitation. Despite what many Washington, D.C., conservative elites want you to believe, we are not in the “post-Trump era” or close to it. We are still in the midst of the revolution started by Trump when he rode down that golden escalator.

Just look at who is lined up against Trump already in the 2024 primary. It’s folks like Paul Ryan or billionaire mega-donor Ken Griffin, who is planning to back a Trump challenge. Politico reports Griffin “wants to … blunt the vein of populism that has complicated the party’s relationship with the corporate world.”

Did I? If I said that, it may have been after one of his ‘acting out’ periods like this one.
I appreciate his impressive talents and skills as a communicator of conservative ideals, but I have always been able to see both sides of Mr. Trump.
In the past, he usually exhibited better control of his impulses to attack and destroy all other competitors. They didn’t last this long. That governing switch must have become ‘stuck’ in the past few weeks.

So lemme guess...if it’s DJT vs Buttplug in ‘24 you’ll be going for Buttplug? How very Colin Powell of you! How very George Will of you!

“I keep asking his diehard supporters how Trump is going to stop election fraud in 2024 if he apparently couldn’t do it in 2018,2020, and 2022 and I’ve never gotten any specifics. Its just run Trump again and somehow its gonna work this time.”

As has been said before - one definition of insanity is doing the same thing over & over and expecting a new result.

We need Trump the Can-Do MAGA Man.

We don’t need Trump the ego-centric man who needlessly makes enemies everywhere he turns, doesn’t know how to build a strong coalition of governors and congressmen or keep his mouth shut.

“It is because of his unprovoked mouthing off since the midterms.”

Ditto. It’s all so needless. He could be cajoling, wooing, and building a winning team and coalition. Instead it’s all needless, childish insults and slaps in the face. I’m so tired of it. He’s alienated so many people, you have to ask who would want to work for him now.

I'm a lifelong Conservative Republican. My very first vote, fresh from 4 years service in the USAF, was to vote for Ronald Reagan's second term as Gov in Cali.

Many (more than just a few) of my friends and acquaintances are Conservative Republicans, as well.

None, NOT ONE, wants Trump to run again.

Some, such as my DW who does not make idle statements, swears that she'll never vote for the man again. (I'll vote for whomever wins the GOP nom, even if it's Trump)

American needs a capable Conservative Republican back in the Whitehouse, let's see how the '24 debates turn out.

Well, good for them. All of my friends and acquaintances still support Trump and want to get rid of McConnell, McCarthy, etc.

“ Why? Not only is Gatz a solid MAGA, he’s aligned with President Trump on all levels. Can you name a single time he’s stepped out of line?”

I also think Gaetz is a solid MAGA and if in a position to vote for him, I would be excited for the opportunity. And I respect his choice to support DJT, just as I did in two different elections, but I respectfully don’t think DJT is the only/best option for the Whitehouse in 2024. With his recent actions and comments, I and many, many other previous DJT supporters, feel DJT supports MTGA (“Make Trump Great Again”) more than MAGA. I’d love to see him prove us wrong.

That said, if after rigorous campaigning and honest debates, DJT is the Republican nominee, I’ll vote for him before I vote for any other party . . .

Which POTUS was as successful as Trump? Look at what Trump accomplished:

Gas price per gallon was about $2.30;
Inflation about 1.4%, mortgage rates were half of what they are now;
Unemployment was low before Covid and before Blue Governors shut everything
down and we were in the midst of a V-shape recovery until January 22, 2021;
Tax decrease; tax laws promoted small businesses as well as large;
US enjoyed energy independence - No Green Agenda, no war on energy, No Paris Treaty;
No war in Ukraine; NATO paid its way;
China was quiet and we were winning the trade war;
US companies were bringing home the jobs due to tax treatment;
Peace in the Middle East aka Abraham Accords; US Embassy moved to Jerusalem; and
Iran was isolated.

Who the heck can accomplish the above while being impeached twice and investigated by Obama's Weaponized Agencies?

In some ways, it gets down to whether Trump would be more of an asset or a liability, moving forward.

My view is (event though I agree with so many of his successes and beliefs) that his inability to control his self-destructive internal political commands make him a liability, at least for the forthcoming elections.

We have the luxury of options when we choose a candidate, and all should be considered.

Got three non-left “I don't know what a woman is” Supreme Court Justices on the bench.
