I hereby vote to give the city of Austin, TX to California. Is anyone else with me on this?
Get Ashland out of their. Wall it off like East Berlin. Ashland is the birthplace of the progressive rot from the “educators” who work at the college.
Don’t forget Denton. Austin North.

Onto your topic, that map is not good. Southern Oregon should not be anywhere near idaho. We don’t want more leftists to domicile in Idaho. Defeats the purpose of the eastern counties leaving.
We want smaller states, not larger. Larger states do not benefit the people.
Split all those states in half and make 3 more states.
B.S. Figure it out in your own state. We have enough issues with St. Louis and the KC on this side.
Lawrence, Topeka and spillage from KC are large numbers to overcome. I want to say that it would but I was hoping that Schmidt would have gotten the Gov seat. What do I know?

You beat me to the Ashland problem.
We can’t continue on this path, if we have any hope of keeping this geographic entity together. I see three options:
1. No change state borders. Most likely and you can kiss the US good bye.
2. Change borders, keeping number of states the same, Less likely.; but doable.
3. Combine states, I.e. De and Pa, reducing number of states to more manageable levels. Highly unlikely: nobody is going to want to give up power.
Or maybe even get rid of some entities altogether, give CA, NM and AZ back to Mexico. Make Hawaii and Alaska independent, with defense treaties..
Or maybe create a new state of the parts of Washington and Oregon east of the mountains. Eastern Oregon on its own is relatively sparsely populated (only one city with about 100,000 people, the rest are much smaller), so it might be seen as not having enough people to be a state.
Back about 1970 there was a proposal to have western Nebraska join Wyoming. Nothing came of it.
Not going to happen. OR legislature is not going to give up territory.

OH THANKS, but no thanks. We have KC, STL Columbia, and Springfield to deal with now. They make everything too close as is.
I went to the Shakespeare festival in Ashland when I was in high school. Those people in that city were like the guys from Deliverance but weirder.
I say nuke it from orbit. It’s the only way to make sure.
Greater Illinois. Make both KCs and Johnson Cty. join Illinois. It’d be like East and West Pakistan. Then add Indianas Lake Cty. and Milwaukee.
