Former President Trump on Friday took aim at Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) amid rumors that the businessman could run for president in 2024.
“I Endorsed him, did a very big Trump Rally for him telephonically, got MAGA to Vote for him – or he couldn’t have come close to winning,” wrote Trump on his Truth Social account.
Trump has been hinting at announcing another bid for the White House as early as next week.
Trump also made a comment about Youngkin’s name sounding “Chinese” as he attributed the governor’s 2021 election win to his support.
“Young Kin (now that’s an interesting take. Sounds Chinese, doesn’t it?) in Virginia couldn’t have won without me,” said the former president.
The post by Trump comes a day after Youngkin’s Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears (R) said that she “couldn’t” support Trump if he made a third bid for the Oval Office in 2024.
“I could not support him. I just couldn’t,” said Sears, adding that voters are saying “enough is enough” in relation to Trump through their midterm votes.

So you think it will work to get him enough votes to win the election in November 2024? Because I think while this approach works with those already committed to him, I think it loses votes among everyone else.

I already stopped thinking the U.S. had a chance to recover and was simply waiting for it to collapse for secession to start. Trump provided a great service by winning in 2016 and giving people more time to prepare.
I don’t expect he or anyone else can do much for the U.S., but if he wins and occupies the President’s seat instead of a politician, it will be better for everybody.

He’s trying to re-play 2016. But he had a uniquely and historically loathsome opponent in Hillary, plus they actually believed their own polls and pundits that she was winning in a landslide so did not bother with the fraud and ballot stuffing that year.
Victor Davis Hanson has been hammering Trump on that problem for at least six months. If he would concentrate on the issues and avoid the senseless humiliation of other people (who he needs as allies), he could win. But all the childish insults and the constant “it’s all about me, me, me, me” is a losing proposition.
