Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), a close ally of former President Trump, says Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) should stay on as governor amid rumors that he could challenge Trump for the GOP nomination in 2024.
Greene did not directly mention DeSantis’s potential interest in a 2024 run in a Twitter thread on Friday but said that losing a “strong Republican governor” early because political consultants are urging them to run for president hurts the country because it leaves their states weak and vulnerable to poor leadership or Democratic control.

Big difference, W sucked as a governor, compared to DeSantis.
“It is doubtful that DeSantis is going to run this time”
I am sure that Trump knows far more about it than you. It is Trumps way of trying to get DeSantis to back down. I am not saying that Trump is handling it right. But it is who Trump is. Sometimes that behavior is a curse for Trump, but other times it is what drives him to get things done.
You and Paul Ryan?
Agree. Florida is sitting well due to him. Can you imagine the torture his family would go through if he ran for president?
DiSantis needs to stay put!
That is NOT the issue.🙄
People are pushing DeSantis. Trump supporters are responding.
Isn't that how it is supposed to work?
They say if you want friends in politics, get a dog.
Yes because poise and restraint has worked so well for republicans in the past. Remember how poised and restrained Dubai was as our young warriors were getting their arms and legs blown off? Remember what a gentleman Bush senior was in the fight with Bill Clinton? McCain was poised and restrained with Obama as was that loser Romney. It may not work but as least you guys weren’t embarrassed by someone who actually fought for the voters.
Does DeSantis believe the 2020 election was not stolen?
I believe Trump was truly a “peoples” President and loves this country but his caustic attitude and “mean tweets” turns a lot of voters off. I believe he should let DeSantis run and then DeSantis could make him Secretary of State.
Excuses. He could have answered the question. And it's a dumbass (your word, not mine) to think that such a question is "dumbass".
Lieutenant Commander, Recipient of the Bronze Star, Navy & USMC Commendation Medal, Attorney, Multiple term Congressman, Elected Twice as Governor of Florida. Unlike Trump, DeSantis was never a registered Democrat.
What does it have to do with Florida? Why should he have an opinion?

Greg Abbott should be Trump's running mate in 2024 to make immigration reform the issue that Kamala Harris failed to manage.
Ted Cruz should consider running for the governor seat vacated by Abbott, and Dan Patrick can appoint his replacement in the Senate.

Trump hasn’t even announced yet and is getting major pushback from many more of his supporters than expected. If he runs, he will fizzle early and new candidates will join the race. That includes Desantis.
Why would DeSantis surrender his interest in running for President in 2024 to Trump’s interest in running for President in 2024?
Why on Earth would he do that?
DeSantis is not some fawning servant pledging fealty to a king.
He should not be told to act like he is.
Of course there is no obligation for DeSantis to respond.
Similarly, there is no obligation for Trump and his support not to respond the the establishment DeSantis push.
I suspect Liz will be one of them.
