Former President Donald Trump criticized Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida Thursday in a statement posted on Truth Social, calling him an “average” governor who was “politically dead” and in “desperate shape” before Trump endorsed him in 2017.
“Ron came to me in desperate shape in 2017—he was politically dead, losing in a landslide to a very good Agriculture Commissioner, Adam Putnam, who was loaded up with cash and great poll numbers. Ron had low approval, bad polls, and no money, but he said that if I would Endorse him, he could win,” Trump said in the statement. DeSantis defeated Adam Putman, the Republican Agriculture Commissioner, in the 2018 Republican primary for governor by 20%, according to Ballotpedia.

There is a chance desantis will be used by the establishment to finally achieve their dream of derailing trump as party leader. Whether willingly or not.
Desantis has done good work in FLA. it remains to be seen whether he can change the gop, or whether the gop will change him.
On the other hand I know who trump is.

The late great Rush Limbaugh postulated that the only way that people will move on from Trump would be is if Trump manages to self destruct.

deep down inside, part of me thinks Trump doesn’t want to run in 2024 and he’s doing this to drive people to DeSantis ... but I could be wrong ...

And that appears to be exactly what he’s doing. This whole thing is like viewing an accident in slow motion. You hope it will stop before the collision but fear you’re beginning to see the lead up to an absolutely unavoidable crash.
That might be the case. They are both in Florida. Maybe DiSantis was in on the raid. Doubt it, but harping on DiSantis is odd.

So far, he’s showing discipline by not interrupting Trump.
Another leadership quality.
Ron II is a winner. An enormously victorious RE-ELECTED winner. Wildly higher margin of FL votes as compared to Trump in 2020 who ran against a dead man.
Perhaps Ron is too tired from all his winning to beat up Trump now. Maybe later.

Read enough posts and it’s not something that stands out. If you check, you’ll find it’s common for posters to question some site/publication or another because they printed something the poster didn’t like. Then, a week later, they’ll use the same place as a source because it printed something they agreed with.
I was ‘austinite’ from ‘98 to ‘05. Then I moved to VA and now use ‘central_va’. Really it’s true but I don’t care if you believe me. But that is what happened.
