Former President Donald Trump criticized Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida Thursday in a statement posted on Truth Social, calling him an “average” governor who was “politically dead” and in “desperate shape” before Trump endorsed him in 2017.
“Ron came to me in desperate shape in 2017—he was politically dead, losing in a landslide to a very good Agriculture Commissioner, Adam Putnam, who was loaded up with cash and great poll numbers. Ron had low approval, bad polls, and no money, but he said that if I would Endorse him, he could win,” Trump said in the statement. DeSantis defeated Adam Putman, the Republican Agriculture Commissioner, in the 2018 Republican primary for governor by 20%, according to Ballotpedia.

Trump is very jealous of DeSantis.
He’s acting like someone in a teenage rivalry in high school. He’s always attacked people but the tone of these attacks has been far more juvenile.

Well this kind of behavior sure isn’t a way to get a good head start on that. A man in his mid 70s acting like a 15 year old? About someone who isn’t even running yet?
Whether working together or working apart the two are attempting to find all that is hidden in this scavenger hunt.
Will this be a turn off for his followers? A possibility,
strong possibility. Many of us agree this is petty and childish, yet it has not deterred him. Due to his persistence, whatever is brought into the light must be extremely important to him. WW GO WGA MAGA

The best thing DeSantis can do is NOTHING. Don’t say a friggin word. It’s just sad at this point.

I do not like this ragging on DiSantis stuff. It is badly timed and helps no one.

DeSantis and Trump are both running in 2024, obviously. I don’t see why Trump couldn’t keep his powder dry until the race was on officially. Doing this now just makes him look petty and opens him up to attacks from left, right and center. If that’s what he wants it’s a mistake. Trump fatigue is real and he’s just fueling it here.
