Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu on Wednesday ordered his troops to withdraw from the occupied Ukrainian city of Kherson and take up defensive lines on the opposite bank of the River Dnipro.
The announcement marked one of Russia's most significant retreats and a potential turning point in the war, now nearing the end of its ninth month.
In televised comments, General Sergei Surovikin, in overall command of the war, said it was no longer possible to keep Kherson city supplied.

The announcement had been anticipated by Russia's influential war bloggers, who described it as a bitter blow.
"Apparently we will leave the city, no matter how painful it is to write about it now," said the War Gonzo blog, which has more than 1.3 million subscribers on Telegram.
"In simple terms, Kherson can't be held with bare hands," it said. "Yes, this is a black page in the history of the Russian army. Of the Russian state. A tragic page."

What is killing the Rooskies army is the Kerch Bridge destruction. The railway there was bringing in vital fuels and more into Crimea. That were then sent north to the Russian army. Kerch bridge destruction has been very very important.
So to me, it seems the Russian forces are bunching up and hunkering down for the cold weather. This war will be mostly static. Unless Ukrainians can bring in artillery and rockets to pound them in their lairs. While Putin brings in Iranian missiles to terrorize Kiev in the coming winter months. Knocking out Kiev’s water and electricity.
Putin wants to keep Kherson regain south of Dnipro so there will be two Khersons. Ukrainian Kherson north of river and Russian Kherson south of river. That’s his plan to save Crimea.
So much for “fortress” Kherson.

Let's have a hot war with Russia and see what happens. Maybe it will set off WWIII and Russia will takeover all or part of the country and save it from becoming a communist hellhole.

advocating for NATO/US troops on the ground. This is Ukraines fight, and there is no problem with us holding their coat.
