Thanks. They have a great site for election watching. I loved it in 2016.
But, I’m not paying one red cent to the NYT.
Real Clear politics has the score at...
Senate: 47R - 46D
House: 199R - 173D
Need to keep Trump away from Herschel Walker runoff election
Need to keep Trump away from everything just as Biden needs to be kept away from little girls. Time for both to retire.
“Thanks. They have a great site for election watching. I loved it in 2016.”
I loved the NY Times that year—2016... True story! >>>>
I fell asleep at 8PM figuring Trump would lose. So why bother torturing myself. I woke up at 11:15 PM. Looked at the NY Times site. I was directed there by a FReeper. And at that hour/11:15PM they had the needle on their infographic pegged all the way to the right.... Calling Trump the projected winner. I had to look 5x before I believed it!
If we pull off wins in the uncalled races for the House, we are at 218 +- 1. With the recent history of close races, my hopes are not too high. This has the feel of the GOP throwing things because they do not want a majority where Conservatives are in control.
With Alaska’s ranked choice system, I expect Murkowski to win. Warner will not be allowed to win. GOP will have 50, but that includes Romney and Murkowski. If this is the best we can do with this economy and cheating environment, we are in trouble.

NEW in #NY17: Mike Lawler’s campaign says DCCC Chair Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney has conceded to him in a call.
538 had this 70% D in their forecast
Republicans need to go after the Hispanic vote. We made big inroads there with NY and FL.
Yep. The West Coast still has to chime in and there are a lot of House Seats in Washington Oregon and california.
The Red Wave is a total bust this election was not an indictment of the Democratic Party. It was an indictment of the Republican Party and, more significantly, the American people. As I’ve said for many election cycles, the leaders aren’t the problem. In a democracy, the voters are the problem. This is why I bought my property in Kentucky two weeks before the 2008 election and moved there in 2011. Fortunately, virtually all of the hijinks going on in federal politics Will Not really affect me that much. But I feel for my children and my grandchildren. However, every generation has their cross to bear. And I know the Lord is ultimately in control and that this life is, in fact, I mist.
We are in, not of, this world.
If they say 224, it could be 229.
Good analysis. You are right. Ultimately, the American people are to blame, or to get credit, for every year’s election. Democrats and Republicans spend billions of dollars on elections, to persuade and even brainwash voters. Both parties make their ultimate efforts.
Though Dems having the mass media helping them out, gives them an automatic 5-7-10% extra free election year advertising.
So this year’s election results reflect the will of the American people. They obviously did not buy into the Republican agenda as much as we had hoped.
Disappointed but not unexpectedly. I struggle to see any “positive” of this mess. Especially disappointing is one poll where 63% of the respondents thought it would be a good idea to provide “inflation relief checks”. The ignorance in this country soars to the heavens or is it sinks to the deepest depths? One only has to go to the corner store around here to see just how much ignorance there is around us. Disturbing.
Given a choice between self-sufficiency, hard work and absorbing the knocks of life on your own and being taken care of; the sheeple will choose perpetual care every time. The sheeple have no self-respect and are surrendered to being kept pets.
Oklahoma was finally much the same as Texas in the state house. With only 17% of the vote in the D was leading for Gov. but that came out as it should. A lot of what some said was soros money came in with a mail smear campaign blitz supported by the indians and something called the Oklahoma Coalition, a front group for soros probably.
I have anticipated the green insanity would continue by regulation and executive order and it will.
Will a slight shift in the house end the pelousy reign of terror at least? If so, kevin mcarthy should just go to hell. He wants the job too much. I have never wanted anyone to ever have a key job that really wants it. The corruption of absolute power gets to them soon enough without it being sought. After all this we deserve much much better than him.
By the time of the next serious cold snap all the memory of the last one will be mostly dead and it will be all to do over again. Sad there is not enough power to castrate the green initiative. Elections are not supposed to turn the country upside down as is being done now. The arrogance of taking a slim lead and turning it into a mandate is pure evil since I don’t know what else to call it.
The R is not quite so evil or industrious and will not take any slim margin as grounds for investigations, let alone punishment. I do not expect them to take any strong actions against lawlessness or abuse of power. They will continue to be the same oh so proper surrender monkeys they have always been.
The country is firmly divided. Any plebiscite can swing either way with the slightest breeze of provocation. We are not safe at all let alone secure. From the fence we sit upon we can be easily toppled. We are a house divided against itself as much as any there has ever been.
Me too, except for Florida and the increased support from Hispanics. Other than that, we aren't going to get much, especially from McCarthy.
Democrats love government. During the pandemic (i.e. since the last election) we saw government on steroids - “government like you’ve never seen it before”.
Naturally, conservatives hated it and despised those who imposed draconian limitations on our freedoms and prosecuted those who challenged them.
What we’re probably blind to is how Democrats loved it and idolized those same leaders. If the answer to every problem is “more government” then why wouldn’t you beat feet to the polls to show your appreciation?
Republicans ran on an agenda that was the opposite of what half the country (in rough terms) wanted. We also were lulled into believing the “red wave” stuff which was all based on polling and it seems that our side will never learn that polls are unscientific made-up political persuasion, nothing more. Yet we fall for it every time and we also put forth some pretty unimpressive candidates.
I know everyone here wants to slash their wrists, but if the NYT projections are right and Republicans end up controlling the house, and still have the filibuster in the senate that pretty much stops the Biden legislative agenda.
Of course there will be a flood of executive orders and dictates from the bureaucracies.
If this is the best we can do with this economy and cheating environment, we are in trouble.
I don’t think this election marks the end of the democratic party. Rather, I think it marks the end of the Republican party. The uniparty seems to be stronger than ever and they control elections in ways we have no hope to fight. At least that’s the way it seems unless something happens in the next month or two.
I firmly believe that the 20/20 election was stolen in many places, not just the presidency, and saw this election as my litmus test to see if anything got better. The answer is, it didn’t. So I now see myself as the modern equivalent of a Jew living in 1933 Germany. However, figuratively speaking, I already hopped on the boat to england. At least that’s how I see my move from Seattle well over a decade ago to 32 acres in rural Kentucky where I could literally live off the land and in some ways am already doing it.
None of the real and self-inflicted problems of modern times were resolved yesterday, which means we’re in for a very tough next few decades. Buckle up. It’s going to get really interesting.
There are two Senate independents that caucus Dem.
Yes.Thanks. I will post that as I update.
Conservatives did very well here in Iowa. Every election since Obama, Iowa has become more Republican and more conservative.
This is IN SPITE of it becoming more “diverse”. Judging from what I’m seeing from returns, Iowa’s large Hispanic population has gone ‘native.’ In other words, they are trending Republican like their neighbors.
Take for instance Buena Vista County. Storm Lake accounts for about half the county’s population. Major employers are meat packing and hog/turkey confinements (and definitely smells like it). Whites are a minority there. The county went 73% for the (R) governor.
Same is true for other rural counties with large foreign populations. They are voting for Republicans.
In contrast, the most leftist county in Iowa is Johnson, that went 29% to the (R) governor. Pasty white soy-boy and bull dike headquarters. It’s also location of the University of Iowa.
The point? College brainwashing and whether population is blue collar/ag or white collar/college brain washed is a better predictor of election outcome than race.
