Trump warns DeSantis against 2024 White House bid, saying it wouldn’t be ‘good’ for GOP

Former President Trump in a new interview warned Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) against running for president in 2024.

“I don’t know if he is running. I think if he runs, he could hurt himself very badly. I really believe he could hurt himself badly,” Trump told Fox News in an interview late Monday after a rally in Ohio. “I think he would be making a mistake. I think the base would not like it. I don’t think it would be good for the party.”

“Any of that stuff is not good. You have other people that possibly will run, I guess,” Trump added. “I don’t know if he runs. If he runs, he runs.”

The former president also suggested he knew unflattering information about DeSantis that he’d be willing to share if the two were to face off in a primary.

“I would tell you things about him that won’t be very flattering — I know more about him than anybody — other than, perhaps, his wife,” Trump said.

So you’re admitting we can’t win without the establishment Deep State? Sounds like you’ve already surrendered without a fight

Truth hurts. Wonder why? Your first response to me was full of accusations against President Trump and full of judgment. Sanctimonious much?

Not full of judgement. At all. And quite measured.

But, you do you. Denial is tough medicine.

“Do not be surprised if the Dems back off now. They fear DeSantis more than Trump based on what happened yesterday.”

Agree! All credit to Trump for all that he has done. And is now suffering for this with all the court cases against him and his family. IOW his whole family and his businesses get to be indicted by NY State and maybe the Feds.

But DeSantis is the better candidate in 2024. Everyone can easily see him running against Governor hair gel in 2024.

Hey, I did not thump, I quoted .. I feel quite comfortable quoting the Bible, even more so since Desantis made his political ad about what God did for him.. I think the prince of the power of the air(waves) is working overtime.

Calling another Freeper “Satan” though is a little over the top don’t you think? If I had to address everyone that ticked me off on a daily basis I’d be doing the same rebuke ad nauseum

I’ve been sitting trying to figure out what went wrong and it all leads to Trump. He’s so hated that he negatively affected the congressional elections. I don’t think he could win in 2024 and if he did it would divide the country even further.

We must dump Trump and fire McConnel and Macarthy.

Ditto that

But easier said than done.

Trump would take office in a four-year term at 78 years old. He would retire from the presidency at 82. And somehow that’s good for the GOP?

DeSantis’s cute young family looked great last night. Very photogenic. That’s a potential problem for Trump, obviously.

I think it was a combination of things. Abortion, Dems still energized about Trump, GOPe not supporting MAGA candidates, low turnout. This constant “We wuz robbed” mantra is self inflicted vote suppression and certainly didn’t help. The weak minded have given up and are sitting out.

Trump needs to move on. He has become a detriment. He makes it all about himself, and thus this petty narcissist is the gift that keeps on giving for the Democrats. The way forward is DeSantis.

You really are somewhat addle brained:

Perhaps the two states most reflective of ‘ballots’ being more important than ‘votes’ are Michigan and Pennsylvania. Despite negative polling and public opinion toward two specific candidates in those states, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Pennsylvania Senate candidate John Fetterman achieved victories.

Whitmer and Fetterman were not campaigning for votes, that is old school. Instead, the machinery behind both candidates focused on the modern path. The Democrat machines in both states focused on ballot collection and ignored the irrelevant votes as cast.

Since the advent of ballot centric focus through mail-in and collection drop-off processes, votes have become increasingly less valuable amid the organizers who wish to control election outcomes. As a direct and specific result, ballot collection has become the key to Democrat party success.
