Officials in Michigan said that everyone in Detroit was able to vote following an issue with electronic poll books that are used to check voters in and see if they already cast an absentee ballot.

Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson denied a claim by former President Trump that absentee voters had been turned away in Detroit.

Trump wrote that the "Absentee Ballot situation in Detroit is REALLY BAD. People are showing up to Vote only to be told, ‘sorry, you have already voted.’ This is happening in large numbers, elsewhere as well. Protest, Protest, Protest!"

"This isn’t true," Benson said of Trump’s Truth Social post. "Please don’t spread lies to foment or encourage political violence in our state. Or anywhere. Thanks."

Trump-backed Kristina Karamo, who is running for secretary of state in Michigan, also claimed "FRAUD" in Detroit, tweeting, "Voters show up -- only to be told they already voted absentee. It’s already happening. This is a CRIME, not an oversight."

BS on its face. If people got rejected then they would not hang around for hours for some problem to be fixed so they could vote.

Electronic poll books are connected to the internet for good reason. To help enable the cheat. The central computers get instant feedback on who voted which makes it much easier to create fake votes. The poll books need to go back to pen and paper.

Are the poll workers looking at this in the right way?
A voter shows up, IN PERSON, with proper ID and is told he can't vote because he already voted?
The absentee ballot is retained and an in-person ballot disallowed?
Is that correct?
Why isn't the absentee ballot voided immediately when the voter shows up in person?

But they started out as ballots for (R) before the 'adjudication' process. Voter requested confirmation, and stated votes had been changed. Confirmed again.

In this situation, where they were told they already voted, they needed to call the local cop over and report a case of identity theft and possible vote fraud. Funny how this advice is not present at a single polling place given it's prevalent occurrance. That's what (D) state Secretaries of State do - oversee state elections.
