‘songbird’ is on my list, not only for his erformance as POW, but for his loving record of all the bills to help veterans, that he made sure to defeat.
Oh, I know him perhaps a little more intimately than most. He was my Commanding Officer for a short interval.
I gave him the benefit of the doubt for many years, being loathe to condemn any of our POWs, whose situation was something me and my family followed closely.
But I came, over the years, to despise McCain. Despise him.
