Democrats are collectivists by nature. Republicans on the other hand, tend to be individualists, and therefore, much harder to unite.

Yeah, there are a number of people who liked what they heard from Futterman.

I believe that what Tip O’Neill said many years ago - “All politics are local” - is still true, but there is incredible information overload from so many sources now. Polling that shows a majority of Americans believe the U.S. is on the wrong track and that inflation is a primary issue seems accurate unless pollsters got THAT wrong as well. But it will be interesting to see what exit polling shows.

I think more than a few Americans were spooked by the “Democracy is in peril” messaging the last 3-5 weeks. Maybe that helps makes the difference in the Senate trending to Dems retaining control.

As far as republicans being "tribal", FR is a testament to the impossible divide we have to manage.

I hear you.

If the Republicans see this as an existential threat, would even THAT be enough to knock some sense into them?

Are McConnell and Graham so warped that they would proverbially prefer to "rule in hell than serve in Heaven?"

Would they stand back and let Walker flounder if it meant staying in the minority but keeping their power? I shudder to think about it, knowing that Graham was just reelected in 2020 and McConnell will probably retire at the end of this term.

Laxalt just pulled within 0.7% of Masto, with 28% of the ballots still uncounted.

Let’s pray this flips our way. That, and Walker winning the run-off election in a month, gets us the Senate.

“I’m telling you, Mastreano cost us 4 PA seats and the Senate.”

Yeah. Probably so. He wasn’t ready for primetime. But the GOP just abandoned the guy, and he took down OZ too! As far as that goes, if Mastriano was running in the MAGA lane, which he was, where was the support from Trump, other than rallies? I did not see one Mastriano ad. Not one. I must have seen 2,000 Shapiro ads. They were 24/7, making Mastriano out to be a monster. Ronald Reagan couldn’t get elected against that kind of one-sided propaganda.

And here comes Laxalt!!!!

Now, if we can do the same in Arizona, then Georgia won't matter and that would favor Walker.

TV ads still matter. Trump can get 50,000 to his rallies, but it still doesn’t have the reach of a single TV ad in Prime Time.

Agreed. I gotta tell you, I’m bitter. There’s no way this should have happened. I’m starting to think the GOP is throwing these elections until Trump leaves the stage. How can a major party candidate in a major state like PA have no money? Where are the deep pocket GOP donors?? The same thing happened in 2020. 24/7 Biden commercials. The ratio was 10-1. Here there was no ratio, because there literally were no Mastriano commercials. Can’t divide by zero.

Masters is in trouble in AZ. Running behind where President Trump was strong in 2020.

Good numbers coming in for AZ and NV. If you are awake, check out Charlie Kirk.

Yeah. It’s like they’ve just decided, ok, Mr. Trump, you want the party, here you go, and they’ve just gone and sat on the sidelines. They’ve left Trump in charge of carrying the load for the whole party. But then I don’t think Trump particularly cares to carry the whole party. Or any of the party. Other than Trump, of course.

Thanks for the link, am now listening. Let's hope that what they say about AZ turns out to be true. Laxalt has taken a commanding lead in Nevada.

Funny how the overnight thingy is going to work in our favor this election.

Laxalt now up 2.7% with 20% of votes uncounted.

Masters in AZ is within 7% with 1/3 the vote still out.

Charlie Kirk thinks Masters will eke this out. Whatever, it will be close.
