This is how you know the gun control crowd is in trouble

When the campaign season fired up, Democrats were convinced that gun control was not only going to be a huge issue but a winning one for them. Candidates laid out their anti-Second Amendment credentials and they started pushing for things like universal background checks and assault weapon bans.

Uvalde, in theory, should have sealed the deal.

However, what happened in Texas turned out to have just as much, if not more to do with school security than firearm laws, and the public has, for the most part, moved onto more pressing issues.

This is especially true after Bruen. That decision pretty much laid the groundwork for dismantling gun control and everyone knows it, so running on new rules isn’t likely to be a winning strategy. Even if you pass them, what are the odds they’ll hold up?

And if you had any doubt that’s true, then maybe the fact that gun rights are looking to gain ground in Illinois should remove those doubts.

Will a "red wave" portend any gains back on the 2nd amendment crap infringements that are already in place?

Someday people will realize that democrats don’t give a krap about people being gunned down in senseless violence, but are totally concerned about creating a population defenseless against the government

The idiots stepped on their own schlongs by insisting on:

A) an open border
B) defund the police
C) revolving door prisons.

Surprise, Surprise, they created millions and millions of new gun owners as a result. They probably also made a lot of people who are still not gun owners far more sympathetic to gun rights as they too feel threatened and understand why some of their friends and neighbors became gun owners for the first time. Something like 47% of new gun owners are women. So they can’t even demagogue and claim that gun owners are all older White men like they’ve tried to do for years.

When my Conceal Carry license is honored in all 50 states and
territories, by law, then I will know that we have lived up to what the Bill of Rights dictates. The 2nd Amendment is the only Amendment that has been deemed “conditional” and requiring “permission” from government to have the right.

There should be nationwide permitless constitutional carry. The penalty for unlawful possession by an adjudicated prohibited person should be something they won’t forget/ignore a second time.

I don’t see the Pubbies pushing for repeal of any laws. It’s Dims like Hochul, spitting in the face of the Supremes, that get these things brought into the courts. Oregon faces a draconian gun initiative on Tuesday. I think it will fail. But, were it to pass, the courts would be brought into play, and the Second upheld, possibly rolling back existing infringements.

Well, we watched republicans hand democrats red flag legislation without forcing the democrats to concede a little ground on gun freedom. Whereas I don’t think public sentiment will allow democrats to force the republicans to support further gun legislation, I don’t believe the republicans have the guts to stand up to the media onslaught and pass favorable legislation. We will see nothing from a Republican Congress.

The old-guard media is getting older, retiring, making way for the younger, shriller, stupider media that nobody will take seriously, except stupid people. Trump showed us how to fight back, so let’s do what he showed us.

It appears the new weapon of choice for the RATS is the SUV. It’s a lot quieter when you’re trying to take out GOP voters.

Especially the electric ones. Really quiet. 🤔😂👍. Or opt for the new EV dodge charger with a faux exhaust system computer controlled to respond to throttle position. Vroom vroom!

BLM protests and lockdowns created a whole new class of gun owners.

“Not all new owners are conservatives either.”

Conventional Wisdom says they’re only one mugging away from being converted. The purchase decision shows their previous political resolve has lessened to some degree. As another poster notes, perhaps their survival instinct has come to the fore.

That is the biggest problem with republicans. They are a bunch of useless worms.

They should be out pressing hard for universal constitutional carry. They should be pushing hard for getting rid of §922(o). It is an easy sell as a health measure. Supressors would save the hearing of millions. Instead, we get a bunch of "we support the 2nd amendment" declarations, but no actual concrete actions to demonstrate that.

Several things you don’t get:

It doesn’t matter that the American people (nearly) all want guns (I support your right to defend yourself against zombie criminals on steroids the Oligarchs have sicced on us to control us), but I don’t have any at this time.

It doesn’t matter that the American people want guns, the “more influential classes” want the American people not to have guns—at the same time that all their security people do have guns—Paul Pelosi’s trouble wasn’t that he didn’t have security, it was that Paul Pelosi’s security couldn’t do anything about his desire to play rough with psycho-joyboys.

The Oligarchs, who ran Floyd George, Covid & the Ukraine War, and soon will be running killer cold, no food and who knows what else to kill us all off...

... have plans to use truck mounted wall penetrating radar to disarm the American people in 2 weeks.

Don’t believe it? What about Slobbering Joe’s remark that You Had Better Have an F-15 If You Want to Oppose the U.S. Govt?

Your guns are pop-guns compared to what they have in the wings getting ready to come at you.
