If I were advising Meloni....let the ship dock, put the migrants on a trains and drive those trains straight to the French and German border. Dump them off with a few bucks for a cab to take them to Paris and Berlin.

Airlift a month’s worth of food and supplies to each ship, along with a map and navigation instructions to get them to Germany. At that point, any obligations Italy may have had on humanitarian grounds have been fulfilled.
