SHARM EL-SHEIKH, Egypt (AP) — Earth’s warming weather and rising seas are getting worse and doing so faster than before, the World Meteorological Organization warned Sunday in a somber note as world leaders started gathering for international climate negotiations.
“The latest State of the Global Climate report is a chronicle of climate chaos,” United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said. “We must answer the planet’s distress signal with action -- ambitious, credible climate action.”
In its annual state of the climate report, the United Nations’ weather agency said that sea level rise in the past decade was double what it was in the 1990s and since January 2020 has jumped at a higher rate than that. Since the decade began, seas are rising at 5 millimeters a year (.2 inches) compared to 2.1 millimeters (.08 inches) in the 1990s.
The last eight years have been the warmest on record, the WMO said in a report that didn’t break new ground but was a collection of recent weather trends, data and impacts in one central place.
“What climate scientists have warned about for decades is upon us. And will continue to worsen without action,” said University of Georgia meteorology professor Marshall Shepherd. “Two things must go away: Climate delayism and speaking about climate change impacts in the future tense. It’s here.”

If climate change is real stop ALL building within 7 miles of the ocean and have a minimum floor elevation of 10’ above sea level.
No expansion on existing buildings and can’t be repaired if destroyed.

I home school my 12 year old granddaughter. In world history we’ve covered the evolution of man, his dispersal across the planet and 5000 years of the first civilizations in our copyright 1976 text. Time after time after time, migration was driven by continual climate change. She made the connection herself about today’s climate extremists. If we could just teach them all up to the 12 year old level.

It says Mean Sea Level on it. But it would be interesting to see if they would still say that or if they would say -1’ due to the “sea level rise”.

MSL is the average between high tide and low tide.
So, you’re saying, that at low tide it’s out of the water and at high tide it’s getting wet.
Yeah, that’s what mean sea level means.

I want to see evidence of the seas rising. No one can show me evidence. Any islands missing? I love the warm weather we are having. Especially that it saves me money and I’m NOT spewing carbon into the atmosphere. Just think of the other homes that are not using their furnaces too. We’re saving the planet and not getting credit for it.

We ended up OK. We are in about 1/2 mile from the beach. The closest neighborhoods got really messed up due to the storm surge. But we only lost a screen in our pool enclosure.
I know! At high tide it is under water. At low tide it is way out. But if the ocean were rising .2” a year, it would be much more underwater than it was in 1970.
Observation shows that it is still right in the middle of high and low tides. That tells me that mean sea level today is nearly identical to mean sea level 50 years ago.

It certainly provides life long employment to lots of people - not to mention lots of world travel to conferences etc.....None of which amount to anything!!! A big time swindle on the world.
NOT unlike the founding of the UN which hasn’t produced one ounce of anything good to the world but founding it had its purpose!
