If the dems were to win the election, the ministry of truth will need to look into “truth checking” local newscasts.

No, local news will not shape the votes. Local news is presenting the facts and viewers can interpret it however they want. Local news is basically doing cable news’ jobs for them. Of all the cable news outlets, Fox probably comes closest to reporting news. However they also have opinion and commentary, but at least they admit it.
MSLSD and the Chicken Noodle Network say they are news, but it’s all opinion.
Fortunately for Democrats about 25% of the people in the country are Evil and Stupid enough to vote for them.
However, this essayist is correct about the crime blotter stuff. They probably don't realize they are shooting themselves in the foot by starting every broadcast with BREAKING NEWS that usually involves criminal activity.
And what demographic is committing the vast majority of these crimes ?

Democrats want no news because any news could create the realistic perception of how totally demonic they are.
It’s in their FB news feeds, community groups, school groups even share it. It’s not simply TV news broadcasts.
I witch the local news every time there is a tornado warning in my area.
The first five minutes of local news is like all of the commercials shown on TV; nothing but black people in front of the camera. Unless there is a major crime involving illegal aliens.
