Big news this week in the world of left-wing mainstream cable news. It almost gives one hope that the fake news house of cards that has ruled the roost since 2016 or earlier may be coming to a well-deserved end.
While the rest of the MSM won’t admit and scarcely report it, the future of fake news leader CNN is bleak at best and possibly terminal. Its leader during the Trump era of pioneering woke news, Jeff Zucker, was offed earlier this year. His successor, leftist programmer Chris Licht, has produced nothing but failures. These are now reaching critical mass as the channel’s prime time hour at 9 PM lacks a host while ratings for CNN’s new nightly show from 10 PM to 12 AM are shockingly low, possibly the worst in the channel’s entire history. In addition, the move of leftist prime time host Don Lemon to co-hosting the channel’s morning show is proving to be another looming disaster.
The two most recent cable television ratings reports, by Nielsen Media Research, for Tuesday and Wednesday of this week are astonishing. On Wednesday, for instance, CNN’s 11 PM hour, CNN Tonight, hosted by Alysin Camerota and Laura Coates, had only 260,000 total viewers. At the same time, Gutfeld! on Fox News had almost ten times as many viewers, 2.5 million. In advertiser preferred demographic, viewers between ages of 25-54, CNN had only 44,000 viewers vs. Fox News Channel’s 417,000. The number of total viewers CNN had is approximately 0.1% of U.S. population.
These ratings are not anomalies but are reflective of most of the day, when Fox News had more than twice as many viewers overall as CNN and MSNBC combined.

CNN’s ratings are indeed in free fall across the entire network, and [CEO Chris] Licht has done absolutely nothing to clean up a toxic waste dump after 7 months in the job other than to rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic. CNN is closer to low-rated Newsmax [in the ratings] at this point than the rest of cable news. Their brand has been destroyed. [emphasis added]

Id sugest they can lemon, Cooper, Acosta and camerota it’ll pull out of the nosedive.

Having jokers on TV spouting lies for the Democrat Party is really not that entertaining. Thus the ratings fall.

The Populist/MAGA right is covered by nobody
And those on the Left are dying. What to do, what to do.....I just can’t figure it out. Does anybody see an opportunity to gain instant market share with no competition?
I couldn't believe how softball the questions posed to Cotton by Tapper were. Felt like I was in an alternate universe. Appears that Tapper is one of the few regulars who is acquiescing to the “Licht vision” to save his job.
It was probably more watchable as the host actually let the guest talk and not be attacked with mindless attacks for the entire program.

Go back to being just straight news. Fire all the opinion show people.
The reason people in the 80’s and 90s turned into CNN was because they actually had correspondents out in the world covering real things like the war in Iraq. They had some good looking women and men. Remember the “scud stud”?
Fire all the personalities. Put it out streaming for FREE.
I see CNBC dumped Shemp Smith’s show. LOL. Poor Shemp. He’s going to have to start buying his mascara at the dollar stores.
Ok, then why is IAN failing and Newsmax struggling? My point is what’s your point? Maybe people don’t like ANY NEWS OUTLET…that demonstrates how tarnished “news” has become.
I watch Gutfeld every night. It can be very serious discussions to funny as hell! Sometimes a lot of words being “bleeped” out!

Just bring back HLN as originally formatted and skip the editorial opinion shows.

A lot of people don’t know about them and/or can’t get them readily. Look at the problems OANN has had getting onto people’s TVs. CNN is part of basic cable already.
One thing is for certain. Being one of a whole bunch of networks spewing Leftist propaganda is not working. Time to try something different.
