“I challenge anyone to make the case that Ukraine is stronger, more capable today than they were eight months ago.”

Ukraine operates more tanks today than it did on 24 February, and well over 400 of them were captured or surrendered from Russian forces.

Ukraine today has upgraded from inferior Russian Artillery, to superior NATO Artillery, including thousands of precision guided (one shot, one kill) Artillery shells. NATO arsenals and manufacturing base guarantees a steady supply of shells. And of course, Ukraine today has HIMARS, which has a been a devastating deep strike capability against Russian forces. Ukraine today also. operates a much higher number of civilian drones to not only guide Artillery, but also to deliver mortar rounds and grenades with precise accuracy.

Ukraine today has a plentiful supply of game changing man-portable missiles like Javelins and Stingers, that have already chewed through the better half of Russia’s fleets of operational tanks, combat vehicles and Close Air Support aircraft (fixed and rotary wing). The Ukrainian Air Force by contrast, remains over 80% operational, and conducts dozens of sorties per day, enjoying air superiority over Kherson.

Ukraine today has over 50 allied nations committed to providing it the Military, economic and humanitarian support that it needs to win this war. The whole Intelligence and planning infrastructure of NATO is supporting he Ukrainian war effort. NATO is providing a complete training and logistical base for continued Ukrainian force generation, in safe haven third countries, including the UK, USA, Poland and Germany. 12 Nations have committed to help restore damage to the Ukraine’s electrical grid.

To say that either side is stronger is a hard case to make but the fact that Russia is mobilizing hundreds of thousands of troops and apparently rushing them to the front with little training and having to buy equipment from Iran and nk says something even though people on this site down play Russian losses I think that is a hard case to make. Ukraine will always be at a disadvantage just because of their size but Russia seems to not be acting like a country with no worries. The weapons Ukraine have now allow them to use fewer with great accuracy and Russians rely on mass shelling to try to achieve the same goals. The acquisition of drones from Iran and China may be an equalizing fact but it also appears that Ukraine has increasing capabilities to deal with them effectively. The main advantage IMO the Ukrainians have over Russia is moral. Time will tell how effective the Russian mobilized troops are
