Doesn’t matter. They’re not concerned with how pumping free money into the economy would and did cause inflationary pressure as well as the post covid pay hikes (13-15/hr) for entry level jobs or supply chain disruptions or Joe’s war on oil… some of this was preventable (or at least mitigation was possible) but we probably need a recession to reset the business cycle, get people in jobs to stay in jobs, get pricing under control.

Putin is not why we’re above $3 a gallon for gas. The people hurting aren’t at the bottom, they are middle class where wages compression means they aren’t keeping up with inflation unlike their entry level coworkers who have so much extra money with less debt they don’t necessarily even have the pressure of going to work to pay bills. Instead they are splurging, increasing demand that wouldn’t normally be there.

I would take an inflation stimulus check though. It’ll just be a refund on my tax bill.
