We have been discussing how Democratic leaders like Hillary Clinton called on foreign companies to pass censorship laws to prevent Elon Musk from restoring free speech protections on Twitter. The EU has responded aggressively to warn Musk not to allow greater free speech or face crippling fines and even potential criminal enforcement. After years of using censorship-by-surrogates in social media companies, Democratic leaders seem to have rediscovered good old-fashioned state censorship.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) declared Musk’s pledge to restore free speech values on social media as threatening Democracy itself. She has promised that “there are going to be rules” to block such changes. She is not alone. Former President Obama has declared “regulation has to be part of the answer” to disinformation.
For her part, Hillary Clinton is looking to Europe to fill the vacuum and called upon her European counterparts to pass a massive censorship law to “bolster global democracy before it’s too late.”...

Just look at who is asking / demanding Musk to do this. In my opinion he should do the exact opposite. In other words, if Clinton, Biden, Schumer, et all are for something, I am against it. Works everytime.

It also exposes the influence governments have had on Twitter. They demanded the cancelling of Tommy Robinson. A panel literally freaked out that YouTube searches resulted in Tommy appearing (for anything). The “trending” algo needs changing, now!!!
My guess is that all of the social media sites have built their software around algos meddling content based on country. Now we’re going to find out exactly...
Maybe Musk should just pull the plug on access to Twitter from any European country.
The left really hates free speech. That’s why they have ordered the social media to eliminate anything they don’t like. Democracy dies in darkness, and this censorship is killing the country.
dems are obsessed with identifying and destroying dissenters. What better means than a website that lets you post things so the Ministry of Truth can see what you posted, identify you, and begin the process of suppression.

Which I would promptly and regretfully decline. From what I have read, he expects a lot from his employees. I prefer to live my life outside of work, not in the office.
