Some of America’s red and swing states (purple) may have gotten less Republican during the pandemic. That’s according to 2020-21 U.S. Census data cited by real estate outlet Redfin in a recent report.
The main reason is increasing diversity in areas that are typically whiter, Redfin reports. The data shows that more people moved into red and purple (“swing”) counties in key states last year than in any year in a decade. Redfin explains “key” states are “states in which either candidate has a shot at winning in the upcoming Senate elections.”
Census statistics show white voters are historically more likely to vote Republican than Black, Latino and Asian voters — though some data suggests increasing support for the GOP among minority groups, especially Latino voters.
Key states with a less white electorate are now, according to Redfin: Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
In these states, red counties gained about 340,000 residents, while purple counties gained around 271,000 new residents last year. Redfin says the trend is also being seen in many non-key states and counties, too.

Yep. I know of a white male in Colorado who voted for Brandon b/c of Covid.
Take the white - nonwhite out of it.
This is about democrats moving to Red States for lower taxes, better weather(for the most part), getting more house for their money, and so many other things.
They leave the places they destroyed with their liberal ideology only to destroy the next place…IE. Nashville, Chattanooga, Knoxville, Greenville, the burbs North of Atlanta, Boise, Phoenix, etc etc etc.
And sadly, they’re moving into the smaller, more Conservative towns an are starting to ruin them. Happening in quite a few places in Georgia.
The list goes on and will continue as long as the cities continue us to devolve and more and more folks figure out a way to work remotely.
“See my tagline.”
All news is controlled by the large urban cities, no matter where you live in the United States.
All of them are more liberal than the people they cover, its disgusting.
The author sounds like a race obsessed leftist who is still drinking the Koolaid that non-whites can't be right leaning and don't vote for Republicans. That has never been more untrue than it is at this moment in history.
I guess we shall see in a week if this is true.
You miss the most important _ Jobs.
It is jobless Democrats who want to work who flee the Rust Belt Democrat areas for GA. Those who want welfare stay up north. Welfare is far better up north than down south.
Most of these immigrants to GA from the Rust Belt are not woke ideologists. They are Baptists and AME. Many of them are ripe for switching parties. It is like switching football team allegiance. It the team in the new town is exciting and welcoming, they will switch teams. If the team is boring and not welcoming there is no reason to switch teams.
I hope you’re right.
But, I’m not seeing it, where I live in Georgia. And I’m east of Atlanta by quite a bit.
The ones I’m seeing are coming down with their ideology still intact. Taxes going through the roof. And lots of folks calling for more so more services can be provided.
On top of that, the movie industry is luring lots of them. The ones that seem to be migrating in the city and, for some reason, city of Conyers and Covington area. They love to smile and tell you how they’re all going to turn Georgia, BLUE.
KRON is out of San Francisco.
This should tell you all you need to know.
Which is why a heavily conservative and Mormon state like Utah has Democrat mayors in Salt Lake City.
Mexicans in Texas and Hispanics in Florida are more likely to vote Republican now than earlier. It’s probably similar in Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada, and voters moving to Florida from New York or New Jersey or Illinois aren’t likely to make the state more Democrat.
The assumption seems to be that non-Whites are always going to vote Democrat. That theory isn’t holding up very well now. Even if it were true it would take a lot to make the non-White population of New Hampshire rise into double digits.
It’s a matter if the ultimate poll, that is, the actual voting. We’ll see next week where America is at.
And depress turnout.
Note to Deep State: The laff riot above, however, is what you get when you don't hire for brains.
