“But they don’t, so they’re targeting civilians.”
That’s sill girl talk.
Striking/disabling infrastructure is “winning 101”.
Ask ANY US General/Admiral.
In Iraq, no strikes were made on infrastructure for the sole purpose of terrorizing and killing civilians. Even in those instances where the strike and their military benefit was rather vague, it didn't matter since the US priority was to get humanitarian services back up after defeating the enemy as fast as possible.
Here, there is no military benefit whatsoever, and the purpose is to hopefully strike Ukraine hard and often enough that maybe they'll freeze to death in the winter.
Luckily, this is as impossible and stupid a goal as any. As long as Ukraine is supported by the West, repairs will always be made to their grid, as they were today after just a few short hours of downtime.
That’s crap. All “infrastructure” is not the same. In a military context, it generally refers to roads, bridges, and facilities that produce munitions/military supplies.
It certainly doesn’t refer to civilian water supplies, and we don’t deliberately target that stuff.
