Dr. Oz: Pennsylvania Needs High-Paying Energy Jobs That Americans Can Live On, Not Minimum Wage Salaries
Breitbart ^ | 28 Oct 2022 | HANNAH BLEAU

Republican Mehmet Oz, running against Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman(D) for the state’s open United States Senate seat, says Washington, DC, ought to unleash high-paying energy sector jobs for Americans with wages they can live on rather than tinkering with the minimum wage.

In an exclusive interview with SiriusXM Patriot’s Breitbart News Saturday, Oz said left-wing politicians such as Fetterman are overly focused on increasing the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour when he says Pennsylvanians can hardly live on such a salary.

“My goal is not to get people just the minimum wage, it’s to get them much more than the minimum wage,” Oz said.

Lawmakers, Oz said, must go beyond the federal minimum wage and unleash energy sector jobs across the U.S., particularly in Pennsylvania, that would offer living wages with good benefits and opportunities for pay increases in the future. Such a plan, Oz said, is backed by American union workers.

“My goal is not to get people just the minimum wage, it’s to get them much more than the minimum wage,” Oz said.

“In Pennsylvania, as a good example, we have a very very big advantage because we have so much natural gas and other energy beneath our feet here in Pennsylvania — enough to power the country for hundreds of years,” Oz continued.

“And yet, we’re not allowing energy producers to harvest it. And many of these energy companies are scared of John Fetterman,” he said. “They know what his policies have been, he’ll regulate them to death, and he isn’t going to allow them to do what they desire … to export [natural gas] overseas. We have so much opportunity to build a facility in Philadelphia to export natural gas that would allow us to hire tens of thousands of high-quality trade jobs.

My brain does not compute.

Stroke or no stroke, Fetterman is a slob. The U.S. Senator from PA should have more respect for the office and the constituents.

But not so obvious to Fetterman, voters vote Democrat and the dimwitted moderators who kept harping on it in the debate and Oz had to keep explaining we are for more than minimum wage jobs. Oz wants the energy in PA to be unleashed and employment and wages to go through the roof!

I’ve also heard from people on our side that want $15 miminum wage. Because people who push carts work really hard and Walmart can afford it. They don’t get it either.

And as Oz said in the debate you should ALREADY be able to get $15 an hour. We want much more than that!

Minimum wage jobs were never meant to be family paychecks; just starting-out pay when you have no workable skills at the time. If one could get a 40 hr. week on the $15/hr. minimum, you might manage. However at that wage, you probably won’t work 40 hrs. a week. Might need two of those jobs...however I dare say that many on S.S. don’t make that much & are getting by. It’s tough to do in this Biden era however. If you have marketable skills, then there’s probably no reason to be working minimum wage, but one has to start somewhere. Having entered the work force in about the early 60s, I think people now expect too much but Biden has made it very difficult not to.

````````````````````````````````````
I too entered the work force (1963) at age 18 making $69 per month and after a sometimes grueling, 4 year period, had advanced through promotions to a whopping $ 230 per month.
Then I got an honorable discharge.
“ Oz and he make a great pair to continue the fundamental transformation. He is as conservative as Fauci.”
A baseless opinion, and one that I do not share.
His first 12 months in office will give a good indication of who is right.
It’s the same 3 people every time. Check out their “brilliant” comment. These are not conservatives of any sort. They are just nasty.
