The man who is alleged to have attacked Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, with a hammer in the couple’s San Francisco home had with him a bag that contained multiple zip ties, among other things, according to two sources who have been briefed on the incident.
In addition to the zip ties, the suspect also had duct tape on him, according to a law enforcement source.
The hammer that was used to assault Paul Pelosi was brought by DePape, according to a law enforcement source and a senior congressional aide briefed on the assault.
Neither source knew of any other weapons found when DePape was detained.

I was thinking something along those lines. It’s possible (although as of now, not likely) that this whole thing was a set-up to distract the November voters from high inflation and crime.
Could be that Paul Pelosi is not really injured at all. And this DePape guy was recruited a month ago to play his part in the drama. As I just noted, this is not likely. But it would make for a good novel.
The fact that sources are giving completely contradictory, ever changing, stories, suggests that we are being lied to and that inconvenient facts are being erased as a narrative is being formed.
How did the underwear story ever come out if it weren’t true? That’s not something an eyewitness could possibly get wrong, or would think to make up.
