Mattias Desmet about Mass Formation and modern society (1 hr video interview of Belgian psychologist Mattias Desmet by Tucker Carlson)
youtube.com ^ | Tucker Carlson interviewing Dr. Mattian Desmet

Mattias Desmet is a Belgian psychologist who has theorized that what the world and the U.S. are now experiencing is the development of a mass formation (a collective that appears to be in a kind of mass hypnotic trance...hence the term "mass formation").

I have started to refer to this collective as Woke World.

This collective is similar to what was seen in Germany in the late 1930s. A mass formation behaves just as our Woke World is behaving in the U.S. in that it is delusional about reality ("reality is what we want it to be"), it refuses to permit any freedom of speech, and it seeks to destroy anyone who disagrees with it.

The Woke World collective subsumed many separate elements (BLM, LGBTQ, gender-fluidity, climate greenies, anti-racists, etc.) and merged them all into one giant organism.

Here is an excerpt from the interview. Please overlook the disjointed nature of the excerpt. It was taken from an audio transcript:

Totalitarian states [inaudible] says are always diabolic pact between the masses and their leaders. And in this way, a completely new kind of state emerges, which is completely different from a classical dictatorship.

In a classical dictatorship, there is a small group of people, a dictatorial regime who has such an aggressive potential that people are so scared of them. That they can impose, unilaterally, their social contract on the society.

In a totalitarian state, there is first a process of mass formation, which is the process through which a certain part of the population, usually about 30%, fanatically starts to believe in a certain ideology, and this phenomenon can be created artificially through indoctrination propaganda.

TUCKER CARLSON: And just pause, you think that number can be as low as 30%?

Yes, usually, it is not higher than 30%, yes.

That's scary.

That's scary because-- yes, but there's always 60% or 65% of the people who do not really go along with the narrative, but who will never speak out. Who will always choose the easy way and go along with the people, with this group of people that seems to have the loudest voice. And that's why in the end, up to 95% or even sometimes even more go along with the totalitarian narrative, with the narrative that led to the mass formation.

And there is then an additional 5% that doesn't go along with it. That tries to speak out. And that-- and that's extremely important. If you understand the mechanism of mass formation, if you really understand it, then you know what this small group should do. If it makes the wrong analysis, it will be destroyed in the end. The chances are very high that it will be destroyed. If it makes the-- if it starts from the correct analysis, it will survive.

That's why it is so extremely important to understand how this mechanism works... because I've just mentioned that mass formation makes individuals completely blind to everything that goes against what the group believes in. *snip*

I was talking to this woman in Iran, Shohreh Feshtali, this conversation is available on the internet. And she told me how she has seen with her own eyes, how in the last stage of the mass formation, a mother reported her son to the state. How this mother hung the noose around the neck of her son when he was on the scaffold. And when he was home, she claimed to be a heroine for what she had done.

That's the end stage of mass formation. And this end stage--

TUCKER CARLSON: A mother killing her own son?

Yep.

And if you understand the mechanism as I explain it in my book, "The Psychology of Totalitarianism," it's perfectly logical why that happens. And that's why this is extremely important. This last stage of mass formation can be prevented if the small group that doesn't go along with the mass formation makes the right choice.

It has to make the right choice. It has--and then this choice has everything to do with whether it will choose to speak out or whether it will remain silent. If it doesn't speak out, it will be destroyed because the masses will move to the last stage. So it's just quintessential for this group to continue to speak out in an honest, sincere way. And all this follows from the mechanism of mass formation.

If you understand it, you will see why the people who do not go along with it have to speak out. And that's what I explain in my book. I will have this phenomenon of mass formation, which is a kind of group formation, emerges under very specific conditions. So like the first and the most important condition is always that many people have to feel socially-- have to feel disconnected from their natural and social environment. And that was definitely the case just before the Corona crisis started.

Sorry about the title. I have asked the mods to correct it.

Here is the correct title:

Mattias Desmet about Mass Formation and modern society (1 hr video interview of Belgian psychologist Mattias Desmet by Tucker Carlson)
Also, please forgive my numerous typos. The professor's name is spelled Dr. Mattias Desmet.

The COVID reactions were also part of this. If you accidentally came within six feet of a COVIDiot they would lose it. And they would watch to see if your toes were over the six-foot tape marks in a checkout line. I accidentally stepped too close to one lady in a checkout line and she visibly trembled and had to steadt herself and then she just verbally assaulted me (while she got closer than six feet, of course).

Reality is a SOCIAL CONSTRUCT. Just ask anyone from a top college, or from the news media.

Another resource which may be pertinent: Erich Fromm's book “Escape From Freedom”, a scholarly study of how the German people were drawn into welcoming and then submitting to the crazed Hitler and letting him ruin their nation. Fromm was a psychoanalyst and his insights can be applied to other places and times.
I recall early on in the pandemic hysteria constantly hearing the refrain "We're all in this together" coming from speakers in supermarkets, radio, television, you name it. I was creeped out then, and continue to be creeped out by this brainwashing. Get your endless boosters, we're all in this together. You don't want to kill Grandma, right?
Very Orwellian.

Psychosis used to be on the end of Mass Formation (Psychosis). It is strange that we are told to speak truth to the Masses, well it is a group psychosis and has been referred to as that for as long as I can remember. Like calling a boy a girl on command. We cannot use their terms.

Ridiculous to think Mattias Desmet is one of "them"..."ones whose terms we cannot use." Listen to the video for a few minutes and you'll understand. Even Tucker is blown away by what he says.

Mattias is one of the 5% who bravely speaks the truth about Woke World. He has done more in the last year to reveal the evils of this new collective than anyone else I can think of (albeit in a professorial way).

It is important that we know our enemy...not fret over the historical use of psychiatric terms.

As an aside, psychiatry and psychology as professions are caput. As you know, they long ago caved to the LGMTQ world by changing the DSM to say that homosexuality was no longer a mental illness.

Desmet is one of the few remaining good ones.

Sorry, sometimes I communicate poorly. What I meant was “Mass Formation Psychosis” used to be the term. Woke language has cut that back to Mass formation, leaving off the psychotic behaviors of those within it. Peoples feelings were hurt about being called psychotic I suppose, but it is a mass psychosis and it seems like it was not that long ago it was referred to as that. Just as womens studies morphed into gender studies. Or transexuals became transgender.

I agree, this guy is a brain, fully connected to his mouth and he communicates clear conscise TRUTH.

I don't think Woke World is aware--yet--of the concept of mass formation or mass formation psychosis or mass hypnosis or mass delusion.

This is, of course, the ailment that describes their condition to a tee; if and when they learn of it, they will be dashing headlong into their safe spaces screaming for their mommies (much as they did when Musk closed the deal on Twitter).

Yur welcome.

I am still near the end of his book. The problem is that I keep going back over what I've already read. After I finish, I may start again at the beginning.;-)
